There is so much more to this whole thing that most of the "conservative" pundits have wrong. As for the msm, they are so far off the mark............then again, it's what they do.

“The standoff between supporters of two Oregon ranchers convicted of setting fires on federal land they leased to graze cattle and government officials amounts to a clash of cultures, according to a legal observer.”

“... on federal land they leased to graze cattle and government officials ...”

PRICELESS!

Against ranching because it destroys the environment. Yet the millions of wildebeest, antelope, gazelle, cape buffalo etc. graze and destroy land in Africa, while humans getting no benefit from them is okay.

Yeah, it’s a clash of culture all right: Ranchers (American culture) vs. environ-MENTAL-ists (deadly bacterial culture).

They believe ranching destroys the environment, that ranching is a vestige of a bygone era," said attorney James S. Burling, the litigation director of the Pacific Legal Foundation.

All right... How about all the ranchers and farmers in the country go on strike, give these folks a little dose of reality?

I wish people would make an effort to get the event straight...the Hammonds set a back fire during a wild fire event. From what I understand, they set the back fire on their private land and it spread to 127-acres of BLM land. Big deal.

This fact should always be mentioned; it is the kind of information the pisses off people who have no knowledge of wild fire management. That someone would have to do prison time for this is inexcusable.
