What about those of us who believe trump will be just as bad or worse Hillary? Those of us who think he is a liberal statist (as evidenced by his entire life history)?

Because that’s me. Six months ago most people here would’ve laughed at the notion of his running as a Republican based upon his life. Some choose to believe he has had an epiphany (suspiciously timed to coincide with his decision to run). But some of us do not. If my choice is to vote for liberal A or liberal B, I choose not to play. I will absolutely vote in the downstream elections, I never miss a vote. But if that my choice, I will leave that line blank.

Sorry if that disgusts you. I understand. But, it disgusts me to vote for liberal statists.

That sort of spite sounds like a good reason to not support Cruz if he wins the nomination.

If you won’t help others, others shouldn’t help you.

Fair enough question. I think the answer is that even though Trump will certainly be, at the least, a very centrist moderate, he won't be a member of the DNC caucus and his base will not be the DNC. For one thing, the way things are polarized right now, very few democrats will take to siding with a republican president - there are many leftists who think Trump is the anti-christ - and so if Trump wants to get things done he will inevitably have to start off with the republicans in Congress. This will especially be the case if, mirabile dictu, the GOP retains control of Congress.

Perhaps it just comes down to this: he can't be any worse than Obama or Clinton.

As far as "If my choice is to vote for liberal A or liberal B, I choose not to play" goes, you've still made a choice, even if that is choosing not to choose (apologies to Rush). By doing that, you are essentially letting the majority cast your vote for you, and so you end up "owning" whoever gets elected, be that Trump or be that Clinton.

The real choice is this: will you be the one to decide who gets your support, or will you leave that up to everyone else?

Have you ever read any of his books? I was surprised that he was saying a lot of the same things 30 years ago. He really did help a lot of women in the business world.

If you and others would rather have Hillary rather than someone who is a job producer and calls Islamist terrorism for what it is, then I guess we will have a Hillary Presidency. I’ll take Trump. Don’t trust Ted at all.

It would disgust me to vote for a candidate pushing path to legal status for illegals. That is a form of amnesty. It is the lowest form of liberalism.

Path to Legal Status for Illegals

Pushing TPP
