I just can’t understand why so many on this forum are kneeling before the looming disaster that is Trump. A former liberal, power monger, who will sell his soul or anyone else’s, to line his own pockets. He’s offered nothing tangible as far as a plan. Just one liners. The majority of this formerly conservative forum has lost its way. Which is why you won’t see any recent posts from me. I still read here frequently, but this vile thread is exactly why I’ve lost faith in my fellow freepers.
Oh, God, here we go. No one is defending Trump, no one is even discussing Trump here other than in the classy way of a gentleman sending news clippings about a reporter whom he might admire. This is called being polite.
I’m in my sixties, and it is customary for people to send you a clipping of an article you may have wrote in a local newspaper or magazine or regarding an award you might have won that was posted. That’s class. Calling someone creepy for doing that is creepy as it denotes that she is putting Trump or whomever she is referring to, on a par with Cosby and Clinton and other perverts.
I have no respect for her and stopped watching her after debate one. I’m sure she lost a big audience.

Trump has never held public office, so he is a real wild card.
He could have a wild upside, a wild downside, or a mix of big positives and negatives.
I think that a big part of his appeal is his break from the status quo, which is so dis-functional that people are willing to take a big risk.
I also worry about the potential downside of a corrupt administration. But when push comes to shove, we both know that the Democrats are nothing but downside (it is not even a risk - its guaranteed).
Trump has a lot of potentially powerful upsides, like controlling immigration, cleaning out islamists, more favorable trade policies, and breaking through the tyranny of political correctness.
It is natural that people project their hopes onto candidates - it happens every election. Trump is exceptionally high risk/high potential return.

The real disaster is watching all the wonderful friends of my 2 kids who graduated form a top rated university recently can not find good jobs.
There is nothing worse than watching an engineering graduate on Deans list (means 3.5+ gpa /4.00) can not find an engineering job for 6 months, and was working as a waiter. I will vote for any candidate who will get middle class jobs back, from China and Japan and Mexico. I could’nt give a rat’s rear end if she or he contributed to democrats before. For crying out loud our hero, Ronald Reagan was a registered democrat at one time.
