Four police vehicles were involved in an accident Sunday on the FDR Drive in East Harlem.
The officers, assigned to the department's elite new "SRG" tactical unit, had been travelling in convoy southbound at East 116th Street, when a car ahead of them slowed down.
In Newark what the local Amish used to do was back into the front of the police cars setting off the air bags.
“” At least three officers were placed on backboards and hospitalized.... “””
Cha ching! I hear those union lawyers prepping lawsuits and disability claims....
Redefining the word “elite”.
I remember that; Sharpe James wouldn’t let them film “New Jersey Drive” (the movie about stolen cars in Newark) in the city, so they filmed it in Brooklyn IIRC.
I suppose the “civilian” driver got a ticket for obstructing justice.
As I recall if you rear-end another car you are at fault. Here in Ohio it is called ‘assured clear following distance’ violation.
I had an accident like that once, I got a ticket for following too closely.
“The newly formed Strategic Response Group responds to major incidents and terror attacks.”
I’ll bet New Yorkers feel safe about this elite group. s/
I think that building is still there, IIRC.
âThe newly formed Strategic Response Group responds to major incidents and terror attacks.â
Damn, too late for my “WTF is SRG ?” comment...
“Ossifer 1337 repording for doodie!”
Not the first time cops drove stupidly. Won’t be the last.
That means the vehicles they wrecked were probably expensive.
Hmm, so much for situational awareness.
Am I the only one who had the word “Keystone” pop into their mind when reading this story?
