The National Rifle Association doesnt shoot straight when it comes to documenting its lobbying and political activities, filing tax forms for years that were littered with information gaps and apparent falsehoods, a Post review of the filings found...

They (government) can’t get them using the Law so they help NYP, NYT et al to try them in the court of public opinion.
The power to tax is the power to destroy.
Therefore, we should ban guns.
The IRS is criminals.
I cannot believe that a high profile, polarizing organization like the NRA would cut corners with the IRS.
Remember that when you vote.
If anything comes of this it would be another instance of the grotesque selective prosecution by Obama to destroy his political enemies.
Where is the FBI on the Clinton emails, and one of the greatest cyber risks in our nation’s history. Where is the law?
Loretta Lynch will go down in history as a lousy hack if she bows to Obama’s wishes to ignore Hillary’s violation of our nation’s laws.
The NRA (member services) and NRA-ILA (lobbying) are two separate organizations.
Understanding Joe Stack more and more.
An enrolled agent told me he gets paid to work in the grey areas. A wage earner usually has pretty cut & dried taxes - a W2, some interest income, maybe a mutual fund. A business does not live in a cut & dried world. There are a lot of areas open to interpretation, and a good tax professional will interpret things in favor of his client.
That is NOT cheating. Cheating is refusing to report something. But when the IRS rules cannot define “Is it A or B?”, then it is right for a tax preparer to decide A or B based on what works best for his client. It is not the fault of the business or the preparer if the IRS has does not have clear rules.
If all you have is a W2, then anyone can tell you precisely how much tax you owe. But in a business, NO ONE call say with certainty what the “right answer” is. As with many things in the law, the “real answer” is the one the judge you are in front of gives on a given day, which may not be the same as the judge in the next county gives, or even what that judge would say on a different day.
When the rules are so complex that no one knows how to obey them, it is time for an overhaul.
True. But the good news is both are chock full of lawyers.
...or Al Sharpton.
Where is the Barf Alert?
Totally unconnected to Obama’s recent gun grab rhetoric.
Let’s have an investigation of the Post’s connections to the administration.
/not likely
In 1990, NRA made a dramatic move to ensure that the financial support for firearms-related activities would be available now and for future generations. Establishing the NRA Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization, provided a means to raise millions of dollars to fund gun safety and educational projects of benefit to the general public. Contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible and benefit a variety of American constituencies, including youths, women, hunters, competitive shooters, gun collectors, law enforcement agents and persons with physical disabilities.
Wonder if this rag will print it’s years of tax filings?
You brought to my mind the widely seen and revolting editorial cartoon of a fireman holding an infant at the Oklahoma City bombing. The fireman was saying something to the effect of "Damn You NRA."
Sure. You can believe the Post. Like the IRS hasn’t been all over the NRA’s paperwork.
