Three of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy's sons and what they claim are 150 militia members have occupied a federal building in eastern Oregon in order to keep two local ranchers out of prison, according to local reports.
The group is believed to be heavily-armed.
According to The Oregonian, the group seized the headquarters building at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge about 50 miles outside Burns, Ore. The remote facility was closed and unoccupied at the time.
Bundy and his supporters were in Oregon after two men were scheduled to go to prison on Monday for setting fires on federal land, according to a report by Oregon Public Broadcasting. The case has caused a stir in eastern Oregon because the two men were charged under anti-terrorism laws.

Not too long after Harper’s Ferry, ‘John Brown’s Body’ was a Union marching song. Just sayin’.
They should go to prison. Who are these freaks? Possibly endangering people and wildlife and for what? What gives them the right to do this?
The Feds may be well informed, but I will never trust them to tell the truth about what is really going on. So a few people go to prison under bogus terrorism charges while the real terrorists are brought into the country by our own government and our border is wide open. Abuse of Power - how much do we take before We the Peasants have no power left?
Supporters of these men say the fires were backfires set on property they owned to eliminate brush that could destroy their property if wildfires developed during the fire season.
These protective fires on their land ended up spreading onto federal lands, hence the federal charges of arson and prison sentences of five years imposed on them.
Firebreaks to protect their own land?
I agree with you.
Let’s see if they handle them the same way they handle the occupy protestors.
........”two men were charged under anti-terrorism laws....” and ........”The militia groups say the Hammond’s were illegally prosecuted for setting what they claim was a controlled fire because the federal government has no authority at the county level”.....
What is the backstory here? Did they set fires on their own land and were charged with “terrorism”? That does sound fishy.
Get lost alphabet agency hack...
Well said!
Whoa! Take Your time!!!
The media propaganda is out with all their knives. They are the media and lack guns, relax as the story changes 40 times in the next day so, so they can get their story straight. Then still screw it up!!
If Black Lives Matter takes over a building, it’s cool, and just wait them out. But let a “WHITE MILITIA” do it...and it’s an ARMED REBELLION.
Not much spirit of ‘76 in this one. . So... Can the government do anything? Must we submit at all times to arbitrary rule? Is there any limit to what you are personally willing to suffer before you resist? Just wondering.
“As an American, a veteran, I say zero tolerance to inciting rebellion and taking up arms against the US”
As an American, I respectfully disagree. When the government becomes pernicious, it is our right, nay, our duty to oppose tyranny and abolish a government that fails to adequately serve and protect its people. Not in this stupid case, of course, but in legitimate cases of government abuse. This seems to me to be he work of a bunch of tinfoil hat nut jobs with the mentality of little boys who have no respect for the rule of law.
I’ve been there.
Yeah, “Just give them some space to destroy” and we demand the resignation of a federal big bug.
There’s always a rebellion brewing. President Washington had to put down The Whiskey Rebellion in 1791 over taxes on liquor.
President Washington instituted a military draft and he federalized state militias to defeat the tax protesters.
There was no intentionality, which is the very definition of arson.
Could be a false flag operation to justify Hussein’s attempt to thwart the 2nd Amendment.
Troll with out facts. Otherwise called a progressive!
In this case the us gov has been inciting and steeling private property since the 70’s. Progressively of corse, twisting the law over time to rob property owners. For the greater good comrade////////// Hail are masters that know better, in order to steel from the low order people with out rights.
