Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson's presidential campaign brought in $23 million in the fourth quarter of 2015, Politico reported late Wednesday.
Carson's total puts him ahead of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who reportedly raised about $20 million in the quarter.

I heard Carson spends as much as 2/3 of his money on more fund raising
I love Ben, but he is clearly not ready for a prime time Presidential run.
I’m counting on Carson to drop out. This doesn’t help. Maybe he will drop out after SC.
Mygosh, has his campaign become slick and status quo. I stopped being a Cruzer a few months ago, and the reasons to affirm that decision keep piling up.
Cruzers, FIRE AWAY
Well, with 23 million, I guess that’s not likely to happen...wow.
I think Ben pays his friends very well.
The dude is running a pyramid scheme and will wal away with a ton of money to donate to his favorite charity....his very own charity.
Got Carson, Fiorina, and others also sending me unsolicited spam. Carson keeps sending a picture of himself. Pathetic.
By comparison, got a nice Christmas card from Donald Trump. (Bought a bumper sticker a while back, which put me on his mailing list.)
That’s why I don’t donate to political campaigns. The barrage of junk mail and begging becomes endless. I’d donate if I believed that I could just send in the check and not be bothered again.
He came from nowhere (much like Rubio back when) and it seems to have gone to his head - here's hoping he sees the light and moves on....
But he is tying up funds that could go to other candidates. Interesting to see if he will “donate” it to other campaigns if he drops out.
Coming from Salon, one must take that article with a grain of salt - don’t know if money is the real goal but he has lost his luster with many who originally supported him. He seems like a very nice man, but has wandered all over the spectrum from time to time and despite his obvious intelligence, has not been able to assuage the doubts that he has instilled in many of us.
I asked one of the phone solicitors if he was volunteer or paid. He was paid. So, I gave a donation so someone else could get my money for pestering me on the phone. What a setup.
I get weekly or more emails from Cruz begging for money. I have never donated to him or his campaign.
This week I also got an email from Dean Heller begging for money for Michael Roberson, Congressional District 3. Like I would support anyone Heller recommended.
Then I got an email from Paul Ryan, begging for money for whoknowswhat but the link is for nrcc.
I am obviously on some weird list.
Isn’t there a way to unsubscribe from those emails?
“I received AT LEAST four emails every day for the past week from Cruz for campaign contributions. Some were subtle, some were begging and aggressive. A lot of them stated he had to raise $400,000 in a few days.”
Same here. I gave Cruz a good donation in the beginning and then the NEXT day he sends an email for me to give more because of emergency, and has done that every other day since. That’s when I decided I was strictly for the Trump Man.
“Isnât there a way to unsubscribe from those emails?”
The “unsubscribe” option means nothing. They just keep coming. I even get e-mails from candidates that I never subscribed to or even went to their website.
