The British government has finally responded to a petition demanding that Donald Trump be banned from the country. Yes, the British government has the authority to ban certain individuals from the country if the people in question could be considered a public danger or a harm to society.
The government petition website requires 10,000 signatures to get a government response and 100,000 signatures to be debated in Parliament. As of today, it has over 500,000 signatures.
The petition was drafted in reaction to Trumpâs call for a Muslim entry ban in the U.S., which plenty of British leadersââincluding Prime Minister David Cameronââstrongly condemned.
Well, today, the government responded, providing the viewpoint of Home Secretary Theresa May. Hereâs the response in full:
For good reasons the Government does not routinely comment on individual immigration and exclusion decisions.
The Home Secretary may exclude a non-European Economic Area national from the UK if she considers their presence in the UK to be non-conducive to the public good.
The Home Secretary has said that coming to the UK is a privilege and not a right and she will continue to use the powers available to prevent from entering the UK those who seek to harm our society and who do not share our basic values.
Exclusion powers are very serious and are not used lightly. The Home Secretary will use these powers when justified and based on all available evidence.
The Prime Minister has made clear that he completely disagrees with Donald Trumpâs remarks. The Home Secretary has said that Donald Trumpâs remarks in relation to Muslims are divisive, unhelpful and wrong.

Having your limey ass saved by America - TWICE - is a privilege as well.
No one talked to them about the "Privilege" of coming to the UK. There were a lot of people who were happy to see them.
A very dumb move if he wins. The consequences will likely be very unpleasant for Britain.
The refugees and illegal aliens sure act like it is their right not only to come here but to get welfare, translators, etc.
The funny thing is Trump's mother was Scottish.
That’s fine, good luck with tourism except for liberals and muzzies; I hear muzzies really mess things up when they visit.
Yeh ban the next US President from entering the UK. LOL!
Are they really that dumb that they do not see the hypocrisy of their statement? LOL. They make the argument for us.
.......................................................
Yes they are that dumb. They have disarmed their citizens, submitted themselves to Sharia law in some ares, and forgotten who they WERE as a people of the Western World.
You are absolutely correct. They DO make the argument for us. In addition, Cameron is in trouble and Scotland no doubt will want out the next time around. England isn’t England any more.
..And yet Anjem Choudary is living large in the U.K., going on government-sponsored TV and saying things like...
Like with democrats and liberals everywhere, the rules are always different for Moslems.
From one of the greatest nations on earth to a pitiful worese-than-third world country with it’s moral fiber stolen by political correctness and elitism
England is on its way to becoming an Islamic Colony.
There are few safe places to live in the world. I don’t view the UK as safe or friendly. The welfare state has ruined them.
The Home Secretary has said that coming to the UK is a privilege and not a right and she will continue to use the powers available to prevent from entering the UK those who seek to harm our society and who do not share our basic values.

Isn’t this Trump’s exact policy proposal?
*******************************************
Bingo.
They have had a soldier beheaded on the street in broad daylight by muslims and they are worried about Trump and Savage. They have already submitted and act so as to not upset the muslims, not to ensure their own survival.
More than one I believe.
The UK hasn’t taken Michael Savage off their “do not enter” list, even though that was proven to be a political act to balance the few Muslim radical preachers they put on the list.
The only reason they are hesitant to ban Trump is because banning the US President is a diplomatic incident.
But they let in thousands of immigrants every year.
Are they all conducive to the “public good”.
Hey, it’s their country and they should let in who they want. But aren’t they saying the same thing Trump said?
I didn ‘t realize it was a ‘privilege’ to go to the British Isles when I landed there in 1944, prior to D-Day at Normandy——the British Government seemed mighty glad to see the Yanks in those days and their women treated us well—cheers
