During an Iowa campaign rally on Tuesday night, Donald Trump took a shot at rival Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), noting the senator's Cuban ancestry.
"You gotta remember. In all fairness, to the best of my knowledge, not too many evangelicals come out of Cuba, OK? Just remember that, OK? Just remember," he told the crowd in Council Bluffs, Iowa. "When you're casting your ballot, remember."
Trump made the comments while discussing Cruz's support in the polls, according to Business Insider.
The real estate mogul made a similar comment earlier in December during a town hall event in Des Moines, Iowa.
"I do like Ted Cruz, but not a lot of evangelicals come out of Cuba," Trump said on Dec. 11.
Trump and Cruz have largely avoided criticizing each other throughout the presidential campaign, but as Cruz has gained momentum in Iowa, Trump has begun to bash the Texas senator.

It wasn’t a hit.
He was just implying that Cruz is very special.
I doubt Trump would be taking shots of any kind at Cruz unless his pollsters told him something.
An innocuous innocent comment.
But the agitators pounce on this like Trump just called Ted a m-— f-—.
Lame.
He is making innocuous remarks to bait Cruz into attacking him. If Cruz bites, Trump will hit hard and say, “I was so nice to the guy”.

I don’t know, claiming that somebody’s professed religious faith is just a ploy doesn’t seem innocuous to me.
Trump didn’t hit Cruz, he hit himself trying to extract his foot from his mouth.
How about, Judge, lest ye be judged?
Maybe Trump and Cruz will go after each other when they’re the last two standing, but I tend to think it will be tame compared to the way Trump has hit Bush. I think Cruz and Trump have made some deal already to ally together to knock out the establishment figures in Bush and Rubio.
