Sen. Ted Cruz will visit Rowlett Wednesday morning, where he will tour areas hit by Saturday’s deadly tornadoes.
He will be joined at 9:30 a.m. by the city’s mayor, Todd Gottel, at Rowlett City Hall. A spokesperson for Cruz said he planned to get an update on the storm’s impact from area officials before visiting affected neighborhoods.
“Our prayers are with the families of everyone who lost loved one and who lost homes,” Cruz told me before a rally in Cisco.
The senator said he was proud of how North Texas residents were helping the victims of the storm.
“It’s amazing to see Texans come together,” he said.

Rowlett and Garland are not far from me. I am sitting in my warm home and we have been praying for all those who died and their families and all the hundreds of people who completely lost their homes, nothing to salvage, the homes were flattened and those that were not flattened are still destroyed. It is just terrible.

Almost as bad as the tornado was the 2” of rain that followed it. Any house with a compromised roof got totaled.

I live in Rowlett not far from the tornado strike area. I’m glad he’s coming here.

Maybe he could convince his big money PAC donors to cough up some money to help people that really need it.

Good to hear that my Senator will be stopping by our devastated town tomorrow.
I’ll be working and can’t go, but I’m happy he’s taking a break from the campaign trail to comfort my many neighbors who’ve lost everything.

Maybe he could convince his big money PAC donors to cough up some money to help people that really need it. No need. We've got donations and aid coming in here from all over the state. Texans take care of Texans.

Yes it is..and quite natural he would do so...that does not take away from the fact he’s doing that...and admirable just the same.
