Rana Elmir, an American Muslim and deputy director of the ACLU of Michigan, says that she “emphatically” refuses to condemn jihadist terrorists “just because I’m Muslim.”

In her provocative article in Monday’s Washington Post, Elmir claims that she is often asked to condemn Islamic terrorism, to which she replies: “I emphatically refuse.”

She then goes on to compare the systematic slaughters wrought under the name of Islamic terrorism with “the terror advanced by mostly white men at the alarming rate of one mass killing every two weeks in this country.”

Elmir draws a parallel between the Islamic State and “Dylann Storm Roof’s attack on parishioners of a historic black church in South Carolina, Robert Dear’s attack on a Planned Parenthood facility, the murder of 20 children at Sandy Hook Elementary School,” and “the slaughter of moviegoers in Colorado or Louisiana.”

“I will not be bullied into condemning terror perpetrated by psychopaths who misrepresent and distort Islam for their deranged purposes,” she wrote.

Jihadist attacks in San Bernardino and Paris have Americans on edge. Yet part of the Obama White House's response to the attacks has been to invite Islamist groups that routinely demonize the FBI and other law-enforcement agencies to the White House to discuss a religious discrimination.

"If we're to succeed in defeating terrorism we must enlist Muslim communities as some of our strongest allies, rather than push them away," President Obama said in his speech following the San Bernardino attack.

But partnering with such organizations sends the wrong message to the American people, said Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AFID).

"I think it says a lot when the president uses those organizations that have an ACLU-type mentality. They should have a seat at the table. That's fine," Jasser said. "But not to include groups, which have completely different focuses about counter-radicalization, counter-Islamism creates this monolithic megaphone for demonization of our government and demonization of America that ends up radicalizing our community."

A White House spokesperson acknowledged to the Investigative Project on Terrorism that the Dec. 14 meeting on countering anti-Muslim animus included Hassan Shibly, executive director of Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) Florida chapter.

The same forum - attended by Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett and Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes - also included Farhana Khera, president and executive director of Muslim Advocates; Maya Berry, executive director of the Arab-American Institute (AAI); Mohamed Magid, imam of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS); and Hoda Hawa, director of policy and advocacy with the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) among others.

Wonder if she’d be so kind as to list them for us chronologically. That would make for interesting reading and certainly fill most of us in on news that we must have missed. These people are detestable. It must make their day to make ridiculous statements that will irritate the **** out of us.

I fail to see why it makes sense to her not to condemn terrorists because they aren’t doing it because of islam. Does it really matter what they claim is their cause - they are cold blooded murderers, savages, beasts, barbarians. What on earth difference does it make WHY they are doing it...She doesn’t see that? She condones their barbarism?

But I bet she condemns the WHITE MEN who are as she claims committing mass killings in this country!!!

The ACLU is the perfect place for her and probably the only organization besides CAIR who would employ her.
