I know a televangelist candidate when I see one.
To hear the pundits and experts in Washington tell it, the problem with Ted Cruz is that he doesn't play well with others in the Senate, he's too hardheaded and doesn't compromise. In other words, he's exactly what the Republican primary voters want.
On this score, I side with the Republican primary voters. If Cruz's problem is that he is a conservative who has no regard for senatorial decorum and fights too hard for the right things, I'm all in.
But there is a far bigger problem with Cruz: Donald Trump is not the most self-absorbed Republican running for president--Cruz is. Whether you like Trump or not (and I don't), at least Trump makes no effort to hide his narcissism. In that sense, Trump is oddly genuine. Cruz, on the other hand, takes great pains to be whatever he thinks you want him to be. And the troubling thing is he's really good at it.
Occasionally, he offers a glimpse of his vanity and his need to be loved -- such as the hilariously painful 15 hours of B-roll footage his campaign put on the Web for use by his super PACs. My favorite part of that footage is the multiple times he and his family practiced the prayer scene before a meal ... once more, with feeling. There is nothing quite as genuine and humble as a rehearsed, made-for-TV prayer.
The other revealing scene is when Cruz is sitting on the couch with his mom and he says, "Not a day goes by that my mom is not lifting me up in prayer." Then mom agrees saying, "It's true." But then, Cruz can't help himself and he adds, "for hours at a time," after which mom can't take it anymore

Read this earlier today. They both are.
Yes been doing exactly that since he was elected to the US Senate.
I'm all in.
Ummm no. He'd be all in though if Cruz had given up his principles and sold out to the GOPe like Marco Rubio.
Politico. Rat propaganda. Ignore.
They’re frightened of Ted Cruz — good!
Important point. No politician has ever won Iowa without siding with the ethanol/farmers corrupt cabal.
Cruz does not say what others desire of him.
Like any politician, he merits continuous study and monitoring—but thus far he is the best in the field.
Reading his book right now, no, I would not call him a narcissist. He’s self-deprecating, honest (even about the trouble got into as a youth!), humble, giving, compassionate, respectful.
(And wow, the story on his dad alone is someone so admirable I just couldn’t believe it!)
Is this the same “Republican strategist” that once worked for Herman Cain and stabbed him in the back?
Professional journalism is dead. Now it is just agendas an insults.
Politico is for buh-hoes.
I am stunned that Cruz is being hit from that angle.
Curt Anderson
member of the ad team for Mitt Romney’s campaign in 2007/2008
In his career as a campaign strategist and media consultant Curt has worked directly for many of the leading Republican elected officials over the past 25 years including: President Reagan; Senators Mitch McConnell, Don Nickles, Phil Gramm, Elizabeth Dole, John Thune, and Ron Johnson; Governors Haley Barbour, Don Carcieri, Bobby Jindal, and Rick Scott.
Prior to starting OnMessage Inc. Curt held many campaign posts including - NRSC Coalition Director, NRSC Southern Regional Director, RNC Midwest Regional Director, and RNC Political Director.
I actually agree with the premise of this article. One of my big red flags with Cruz is his theatrics in every speech, really over the top dramatics, and the author nails that in this article. I wouldnt exactly agree with the Cruz as a martyr theme, but Ted has a noticeable habit of running to the Senate, grabbing Mike Lee and sponsoring some bill or amendment that he knows is going nowhere, and then reminding conservatives that he’s fighting for us. In 2016, Cruz is simply the best of a group of very bad elected officials, but Trump is far and away the best leader and the wrecking ball this country needs to have a chance at fixing this country’s problems.
sounds like some people are getting scared of Ted Cruz ... which may be a good sign.
However, when it comes to narcissism, nobody can touch the Clintons. They define narcissism.
Have you heard of Obama?
My gut, unfortunately, says that you are right about Cruz—but it says similar things about Trump. They are, however, the two best last chances to turn things around, and only one of them can be picked.
I also think that, with the possible exception of Pat Buchanan, they are also the best candidates since Reagan who stood a realistic chance of winning as much as a state.
You would. Only thing is this article has no premises worth anything
My God. You have got to be a Ron Paul brain dead boneheaded moron.
I go by the simple rule of thumb - if Politico is against someone, i am for them.
Photoshopped Cruze photo??
