Update from last night's threads. I just moved from this area to a town farther north of Dallas. Absolutely shocking to see all of the damage. Luckily, all friends and family in the area are safe and sound. Still have a ridiculous amount of rain pouring down.

El Niño has nothing to do with global warming.

Prayers will be going up now and later in churches for those affected and for the families of those who perished.

I think the “warming” is over for this year.

Just watched the weather forecast, all day here in Dallas it is getting colder (and it’s already pretty chilly) and the cold stays here all the next week.

It has been warm right up until yesterday, but that had now changed.

I think winter is starting now. Not just here, either.

Most of NM and especially the southeast is getting hammered.

I-40 shut down from west of Albuquerque to the Texas line.

Probably farther than that. I know Amarillo was getting slammed with a blizzard last night. Our preacher lives in Lubbock and had to cancel...and we cancelled services because so many older folks were not going to get out in this. We were and are expecting up to 6 inches. Not good for getting out when so many folks don’t know how to drive in it around here. LOL!

Just think ....if this was Haiti or some other god-forsaken turd-world country, the Hollywood left would already be boarding planes for their relief help photo op. (Good thing they will stay out of Texas. Of course, normal Texans don't need or want them)

Our DIL’s cousin lives in a neighborhood that was almost completely destroyed. His is the only house not blown down.

I just got out for the first time after the storm. Access is still restricted to certain areas of my neighborhood. My home, and the homes on my street suffered no damage. One block to the SE, houses had portions of the roof lifted off, and outside structures were badly damaged. Two blocks to the SE, homes had lost the second floor of their houses and all windows were blown out. Outside structures landed several houses away. Closer to ground zero, houses were totally destroyed.

I feel very blessed and very lucky right now. That’s one prayer I know for a fact was answered. Please pray for my neighbors’ recovery.

Here in Houston most of my lawn is still green and rose bushes have flowers on them. I think that’s about to change.
