Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) has earned the support of conservative favorite Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), who will join the freshman Senator for a three-day trip to Iowa to rally support for his campaign.
âMarco is a rock solid conservative and a strong leader we can trust,â Gowdy said in a statement proved to reporters. âI look forward to campaigning in Iowa with him, and introducing my good friend to voters across the state.â
Gowdy is a celebrity among many conservatives, thanks to his tough prosecutorial grilling of members of the administration officials during congressional hearings and because he has chaired the Benghazi investigative committee that centers on Hillary Clinton.

Well as an America hating Obama lover who is thanked by David Axelrod and should be shot (which I learned from human garbage right here on FR) for refusing to vote for a guy that profits from BBQing the results of his own abortion legislation, I embrace you as a brother!

It is now obvious why the hearings he was chairing never went anywhere.

This endorsement for Cabana Boy further solidifies Gowdy’s weak immigration positions.

Trey Gowdy continues to disappoint me on a daily basis. I had such high hopes for him. Now he’s totally sold out to the GOPe. Wonder what they dug on him? Pics of him with little boys in bed?

Gowdy is an establishment man. I would suspect he wanted to endorse Jeb, but since he’s dead in the water he might as well endorse little Marco. Tim Scott, who’s been as much a failure as Gowdy is turning out to be, will also endorse little Marco and of course uber RINO Nikki Haley will endorse him. And guess what, after these three establishment types endorse him, Trump or Cruz will carry SC. South Carolina folk despise fake conservatives and little Marco will not get their support.

Where has Trey gotten us on Benghazi - I remember the hoopla when the investigation was announced to much Trey fan fare. Where are we today - Shrillary is still roaming the Presidential candidate landscape free as a bird and holding a 55.3% lead to Sanders at 30.0, and Omalley at 4.6 (RCP Avg).
My first reaction is that Trey got nothing, zip, zero, nada for all those hearings. Obie still commanding his approval rating of 43.6% (RCP Avg) with all his kool aid drinkers still on board.
There is no way - IMHO - the Repubs take the 2016 WH and probably will lose the Senate for all the good they have done this country in stopping the statists.

They’re trying to show they are not Strom Thurmond, but ol’ Strom started turning left too as early as 1978, when he endorsed D.C. statehood.

I like Gowdy, but Rubio is a bit too neo-conservative for me.
Cruz has my vote.

Most people in Congress fear Trump. He can’t be controlled & he can’t be bought. The elites in D.C. are nervous.
To: raybbr
Trey totally endorsed Ryan as well. Total sellout.

If Marco Rubio were president, he and Paul RINO Ryan would shove amnesty down our throats in a New York minute.

Gowdy went the Issa route long ago. His conservative bravado has far exceeded meaningful results.
Primaries matter.
