It was the Detroit News headline "Trump goes after Ford Motor Co." not how long Hillary went overtime in the restroom that got our attention. Donald Trump made a whistle stop outside Grand Rapids, Michigan to take aim at Ford’s plans to expand production in Mexico. Trump promised if elected he would threaten manufacturers with big tariffs on imports to discourage building manufacturing plants south of the border.
Trump to Ford, "If you build that plant in Mexico, I’m going to charge you 35 percent on every car, truck part that you send into our country," he said. "Every single one." Trump went further saying he would engage in tough negotiations with car companies to build new plants in the US and Michigan. Political analysts say Trump’s proposal would at the very minimum require congressional approval and possibly violate NAFTA.

He said this six months ago.
This would do a lot to bring jobs to America.
How does a president impose a tax without Congress?
Great news! NAFTA has to go. It only works for Canada and Mexico to rob us blinbd including our SOVEREIGNTY! Along with the end of NAFTA we will find out where our meat comes from.
And a 50% tax on every dollar wired to Mexico every payday.
Obama seems to have set the precedent that Presidential whims override the Constitution.
Yeah ... this is not news
How about threatening them with a corporate tax rate cut to 10% - it will work a lot better. :)
It will have Bernie Sanders vote.
Leave your pen and phone on the desk when you leave...
And will he use the pen? Does anyone seriously think congress would pass this, or that it is in anyway constitutional to pick winners and losers like this?
Another 3-year-old idea trying to keep the air game going.
Check with Obama/Valerie.
He’s been saying this like three times a week for the last six months! YOu have to wonder where the elitists are to not know that - holed up like preppers in their echo chamber??
“Obama seems to have set the precedent that Presidential whims override the Constitution.”
Did anyone, or does anyone, criticize Obama for saying he would transform the United States? Did he ever say anything about doing that in a Constitutional manner? Does Trump saying he would impose a tariff rise to that level? Have you ever watched [a, any] president give a State of the Union speech?
LOL
You can’t punish a business into hiring here anymore than you can beat a dog into loyalty.
He should say that he will work tirelessly to eliminate the existing federal tax code. Reducing it to 2-3 pages would be helpful.
Eliminating the corporate tax and discontinuing the practice of taxing inventories!
A federal tax of 10 % on EVERYONE would be helpful to the nation. Or, eliminating the tax altogether and have individuals pay the tax to the state in which they reside. The states would then pay the goobermint an annual amount based on population.
Next, change the way Congress is paid. They should be paid by their individual states. Representatives would be selected by election of the people. Senators would be selected by the individual state legislatures for a period of FOUR years like it was done prior to 1912.
Washington and each state should have leaders that will dismantle most of the apparatus that has been erected over the years and referred to as bureaucracy.
Put these over-paid and over-fed loafers out the doors of their gigantic office buildings.
We either stop the bleeding or become a second rate postindustrial agricultural society.
Tell that to the founding fathers who were all protectionists.

Hardcore Trumpees have lost it.
I want the constitution enforced, not played with just like Obama.
AND TRUST THIS: THE DEMOCRATS, PUBBIES AND MSM WOULD SURELY IMPEACH A PRESIDENT TRUMP FOR SUCH.
And I would cheer.
Give me that even tempered Cruz who understands the constitution.
