Trump Threatens 35% Tax on Ford if Mexico Operations Expand
Mustang 360 ^ | 12/23/2015 | John Gilbert

It was the Detroit News headline "Trump goes after Ford Motor Co." not how long Hillary went overtime in the restroom that got our attention. Donald Trump made a whistle stop outside Grand Rapids, Michigan to take aim at Ford’s plans to expand production in Mexico. Trump promised if elected he would threaten manufacturers with big tariffs on imports to discourage building manufacturing plants south of the border.

Trump to Ford, "If you build that plant in Mexico, I’m going to charge you 35 percent on every car, truck part that you send into our country," he said. "Every single one." Trump went further saying he would engage in tough negotiations with car companies to build new plants in the US and Michigan. Political analysts say Trump’s proposal would at the very minimum require congressional approval and possibly violate NAFTA.

Moreover, even if we put every able-bodied American adult and child to work making such labor-intensive products as most of the items sold at Walmart and Target and Sears and your local retailer, we’d still probably come up short — not to mention the fact that we’d have to stop making cars, repairing computers, laying fiber-optic cables, cleaning clothes, eating in restaurants and growing food.

Wow your post is just plain stupid.

Oh boy, you are really a brainwashed gloBULList. My God we have 90 million not working in the USA, roughly the population of the UK and Canada combined.

That's more due to lack of morals introduced by all the forms of media and government rather than trade policy. Most think they are too good to have to work. They think they are owed a living by the government and will do whatever it takes to live off the government.

Well I have seen Jim Robinson post pro secession sentiments. Sadly he doesn’t post much anymore....

Link? Like I said, the disclaimer is clear as a bell.

My, you really hate Americans don't you?

You are probably one of those "jobs Americans won't do" pricks.

Oh yeah, geez. You’ve got me.

Well, normally I make it a habit, or try to, not to personally trash Trump- his beliefs or policies and his wavering, yeah I’ll disagree with. But since you’re classless enough that I guess I don’t have to worry about that, I guess all I’ll say is this.

Have fun with your support of a candidate who’s held every liberal/progressive position that there is to hold, who was for illegal immigrants and dreamers before he was against them, who was for Hillary before he was against her,who was antigun before he was pro gun, and who got his start as a “celebrity” and got his start into the gambling world with Resorts International, which was controlled by, among others, David Rockefeller and Baron Edmond de Rothschild.

But I’m SURE that a man with Trump’s money and the arena in which he made it would have no globalist or unsavory connections.

Just as I’m SURE that we can implicitly trust a man who’s been on the enemy’s side longer than he’s been on our side, because, hey, he says we can. He doesn’t go into much detail on how and why he’s come to believe almost everything he once supported was wrong, but hey, he’s changed and it will be great.

Well, good luck with all that. Personally I think you’re going to be disappointed . But then maybe you’ll be one of the ones who when the time comes is so deceived that you’ll openly fall all over yourself in joy over what’s coming while calling others kooks. I would hope not. But then you seem to be headed down that path.

And for my part, if I’m wrong about Trump, I’ll admit it when the time comes. I just wonder if I’m right, how SOME people on the other side will reconcile with that.

Well, where did all your buddies go? That’s the trouble with your side, it’s fun to shriek stupidity on a subject, but they can’t stand to be scrutinized on their comments so they run off and wait for the next thread they can display their economic ignorance on, then run off again.

Economic ignorance is turning us into a third world hell hole. It is time to get smart.

You don't have to have a PHD in economics to see the destruction of the last 40 years.

My, you really hate Americans don't you?

I don't respect the ones that will do anything to live off the government rather than contribute. It's certainly not 99% of them, as in your case.

You are probably one of those "jobs Americans won't do" pricks.

No my area is 99% American, it all gets done.

First of all, not a lady.

Second of all, yep, you still have all the class and grace of a donkey with a carrot up his butt.

Thirdly, you apparently love your strawmen, and instead of having the common courtesy or sense to actually ASK if you’re understanding what I’m saying right, you just build your scarecrows like a third rate Oz.

You have to literally deliberately try to distort what I said to get “a one world uni-government” is the way to redemption and salvation. I never said such a thing, I would never claim such a thing, and for you to indeed distort it in such a manner shows everyone how much, or rather how little character you actually have.

Have a good evening.

And to know what caused it, excessive taxes and regulation. We've had income taxes preferred over tariffs since 1894. Funny how our problems started with Lyndon Johnson, 80 years after tariffs dropped in dominance.

Thanks for making my point that the petty mercantilists around here have nothing constructive to contribute to a reasoned discussion of the issues. Anybody who indulges in name calling and childish insults has given a sure sign that he is best ignored.

Indeed. It is always worth a try. I don’t claim to have possession of the truth as far as my interpretation and beliefs are inerrant. The bible itself is though. I’m a rather flawed Christian just trying to get everything in order. But I am reminded and I am aware that Satan will try to distort, get people off message, and divert attention from what is true as much as possible. Sometimes he’ll even act “Christian” to do it, as the apostle Paul discovered with one demon possessed girl in Acts Chapter 16.

Still more than most of our trading partners. It needs to be 0%

Same here. Oh yes, that's Satan's favorite act, to act Christian. That's his final play coming shortly, I believe.

Looks like we are doing pretty good, when you consider that the USA has no VAT I would say put standing comparatively.

What they did was export millions of American jobs overseas to cheap labor land, while flooding the U.S. with low wage labor. Some of us saw what this was going to do to Middle America. All while the greedy SOBs running the corporations prodded and bribed the corrupt in D.C. to pass punitive tax and environmental laws to kill off any competition left in the U.S. Little folks could no way in hell compete in the USA. They all knew this.

Middle America got economically gang banged, while those in in D.C. and their well connected fatcorps and Wall Street insiders made enormous historic profits. This is no secret.

At this level of corruption, brought to us by backdoor D.C. country killing corrupt policies, the results were easily predicable.
