After starting 2015 as the presumptive front-runner with a huge bankroll, Jeb Bush has to be ending the year wondering what went wrong with his presidential campaign, what happened to his Republican Party and where all his money went.
Mr. Bush and his super PAC burned through more than half of the $133 million they raised in the first three quarters this year. The return on that investment has been a drop in polls from about 15 percent when he entered the race in June to about 4 percent in recent surveys.
"He has not been a great candidate and the campaign never seemed to hit its strides despite all the money he had," said Aubrey Jewett, a political science professor at the University of Jacksonville.
He had to slash his campaign payroll nearly in half and reorganize into a leaner operation in October when it became clear that the spending was out of control and donations were drying up while his run had stagnated in the middle of a crowded Republican field.

Jeb "Act of Love" Bush is still in because Cruz will knock Trump out after the next Trump gaffe, and then Cruz will fade like all early leaders. After that, without Trump sucking up all the attention, Jeb's millions will allow him to get his message out, and we'll realize that what we really want in a nominee is a spoiled, entitled brat who is only there because of his last name and his support for Amnesty to reward the criminals who take our jobs and commit a disproportionate share of crime in our neighborhoods.
20 out of the past 35 years, there has been a Bush in the WH as either President or Vice President. Add 8 years of Clinton and you have two families that have dominated the Presidency/Vice President for 28 of the past 35 years. And now a Bush and a Clinton want another stint in the WH.
In a country of 320 million, the best we can do is a Clinton or a Bush? It would be somewhat different if they had outstanding Presidencies, but Bush 41 and 43 and Clinton were not very good to say it mildly. We are becoming a banana republic.
John Ellis Bush, the worst poll numbers other peoples money can buy.
Just keep on sliding JEB!
Right off the big stage, past the kiddie stage and all the way to the Bush compound for an early retirement.
Gee whillikers, he’s so good with his campaign money. Front runner to bottom of the barrel. How great he’d be with our economy. One wrong move and he’d double down with our tax dollars.
Regarding your GIF...it’s clear that Yeb is reliving his glory days when he turned his “Pop-Goes-The-Weasel” toy’s crank.
Give it up sack-o-shiite
He died that day.
The Bushs have practically adopted Bill Clinton, and JEB is pinning medals on Cankles. It’s a Bush-Clinton love feast.
Jeb will stop his slide in the polls soon. There is an irreducible minimum which he probably cannot breach. It is callednoise.
He really doesn’t have to have any voters. If Trump and the others manage to prevent any conservative winning the required 8 majorities in the primaries it should be fairly easy for the RNC/GOPe to simply nominate him.
If he drops out the RNC would look bad when they give him the nomination.
`If Trump and the others manage to prevent any conservative winning the required 8 majorities`
WTF are you talking about?
Who are `the others`?
You are not suggesting Jeb Bush is a conservative are you?
LOL
Hey JEB!
I can set up some ad runs up here in Maine, it’ll be great. Two million oughta do it.
Yeah, that’s it, that’s the ticket.
The poor slighted crybaby will be a partner in crime with bill and hillary you wait and see
You are spluttering.
He can burn in hell with them too.
If for some reason he doesn't get nominated, I'll return the guac bowl.
