The head and several leaders of a major Syrian rebel group, Jaysh al-Islam, have been killed in an air strike in a suburb of Damascus, reports say.
Founder Zahroun Alloush was among those killed when rockets hit a meeting place, rebels and activists said.
The Saudi-backed Islamist group is one of the biggest factions and is dominant in the eastern Damascus countryside......
Ten rockets struck as Jaysh al-Islam commanders met, Saudi-funded al-Arabiya TV reported.
Reuters news agency quoted rebel sources as saying the strikes were carried out by Russian planes, though this had not been confirmed.......

Saudi Arabia has no business backing rebels in Syria. Either do we. How much money are these rebels (terrorists) getting to turn against their own government? Might be time for them to migrate....perhaps Saudi Arabia will give them the freedoms they had under Assad.
A certain poster who has three capital letters for a handle will be calling shortly with very large BS signs and large anti-Putin placards ... steel yourself.

Aloosh has been evading an explosive death by inches for the last couple of years. The acquisition of his 72 Virginians will open the door to the war’s end just a bit more.
Maybe the meeting was for high level staff only ;-)

This is the guy that runs/ran together the Anti-Gov coalition west of Damascus. It will likely fall apart from Tribal infighting now.
