Washington, DC – The Pentagon’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) have been indirectly providing intelligence on the Islamic State to the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad, in direct contrast to the Obama administration’s agenda of regime change, in an effort to stop Syria from becoming another failed state from which terrorists can operate.
A recent investigation by renowned journalist Seymour Hersh provides clear evidence of a massive disconnect between President Obama’s White House and the U.S. military regarding the handling of the Syrian situation.
The awkward situation stems from the Obama administration’s insistence that there are “moderate rebel†groups to arm that are capable of defeating Assad, and the subsequent decision to provide weapons to these jihadist groups through a covert CIA program.
In spite of the “Assad must go†pledge made by President Obama and covert CIA program, the U.S. JCS instead opted to feed intelligence on the Islamic State to the Syrian government through a number of intermediary governments, the unidentified former senior advisor to the JCS told Hersh.
“Our policy of arming the opposition to Assad was unsuccessful and actually having a negative impact,†the former JCS adviser told Hersh.
“The Joint Chiefs believed that Assad should not be replaced by fundamentalists. The administration’s policy was contradictory. They wanted Assad to go but the opposition was dominated by extremists. So who was going to replace him? To say Assad’s got to go is fine, but if you follow that through – therefore anyone is better. It’s the “anybody else is better†issue that the JCS had with Obama’s policy,†the unnamed JCS advisor said.

Personally I'm of the mindset that it's hard to fight ISIS when at least certain parts of your government is funding them.
Well, at least SOME in the Government are resisting Obama, however tacitly.

Then make a request to Jim to move it. Seems the appropriate response since as far as I know, he’s the only one who can do anything about it. I could be wrong.
I tend to look at most articles that reference a source as being “news related”. Perhaps not.
I know nothing about his blog. Reading the “about us” page, it looks like there could be some positive but also a fair amount of negative associated with it.
I saw it at a political news source and posted it. Oh well.

When the enemy is within the gates, there is bound to be internal “skirmishing” in lieu of open warfare.

I imagine that the Joint Chiefs, and other segments of the military, have been playing ‘what if’ games amongst themselves these past eight years. I mean, I understand duty, but I also understand that there must be, in the minds of some of these patriots a line that, if Obama had crossed it, it would mean that all bets are off.

I’m sure every day there are patriotic, experienced, competent people in our military, be they office and political brass or serving in active duty somewhere who are literally counting down the days until Obama leaves the office.
I’d expect you’re right too. A lot of “what ifs”, worst case scenarios, and contingency plans drawn up.
This is such a conflict. The US military would like to eliminate ISIS once and for all, and Obama is still thinking they can play a part is his global conquests. I am beginning to wonder if one of Obama’s aids is an ISIS operative giving him counsel on what to do?
Don’t you know that every single one of the Joint Chiefs of Staff would like to throttle those in the back offices of the WH advising the jerk? Those college educated, know nothing, do nothing advisors?
Can we NOW get on with our own SEVEN DAYS IN MAY? Or even 10 DAYS IN JANUARY, 12 days in FEBRUARY - I really don’t care - just get on it!!!

We can be positive that every single one of them is working AGAINST the interests of the United States and Israel. They aren’t on the same page as the rest of us for sure.
Best way to fight ISIS for the US Armed Forces to pack up and go home and let the Sov, er, Russians fight them (and the Turks...).
I sincerely hope and pray that we have many in DoD chiefs and their staffs who are patriots and recognize the Kenyan for what he has done.
If the Joint Chiefs had any balls they would send the Marines to the White House and drag the impersonator out by the hair of his nappy head.
