I’ve only ever had a Michigan Driver’s license so I’ve never experienced anything else.

This all started when the Feds illegally obtained a copy of the database containing all Missouri CCW holders. When the Republican legislature got wind of it they clamped down the drivers license bureau, which at that time was in charge of CCWs too.

As I understand reading the ACT ... the FED is requiring it’s own ID for people to utilize FED offerings ... access to buildings, military bases, and if the airways ever bercome federalized ... air travel

I recently had to get a new driver’s license since my old one was about to expire and I had moved as well. I ended up having to pay for a copy of my birth certificate just to get the new license because the new ID symbol showing up on licenses. I ended up paying about $86 for the privilege. Needless to say, I was thrilled. Yep, thrilled.

This is what started the move to not follow the federal mandate on driver licenses.

From another article:

“New York, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and American Samoa remain out of compliance, according to the Department of Homeland Security.”

Just FYI.

No, this isn’t a states rights issue. States can put whatever they want on their driver’s license. The Feds have put out requirements for what they require to get through federal security (Federal building, military base, etc. If your state doesn’t want to meet those standards, no problem. You just need to get a qualifying federal ID (Simplest and cheapest probably being a Passport Card).

They even had to re-vamp the federal employee id cards a few years ago to add an expiration date and biometric information.

Missouri seems like it is becoming a battleground state for political correctness, social justice and big government.

A stab at the heart of the country?

MO won’t put the holographic chip on it making them less easy to counterfeit. Importantly, it must be on licenses to fly & MO residents will be forced to show their passports for ID to board a plane.

Same thing is going to happen to New Mexico drivers licenses too. It won’t meed federal requirements due to the standards being lowered for it when former Gov Bill Richardson and all the libtards decided it would be good to hand them out to illegals. Of course many/most illegals ‘proved’ their identity with documents out of Cracker Jack boxes. Soon, all residents of NM and other states will need a ‘real’ form of ID to board planes, etc. Motor voter played a big part in this.

Read the entire article and NOT ONCE does it say WHY they are NO LONGER compliant.

Lack of photo on the license?.. The article does not say anywhere I could see.

Pi$$ poor journalism.

I had to get a copy of my B/C from Wisconsin and I think it cost $2.00

Sheesh! You were lucky! The worst part wasn’t the money. It was having to WAIT six weeks for it to arrive by mail!

W. kept the homeland safe after 9/11. But in EVERY other respect he was a disaster. I’d grade him at a D, at best.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Was he preferable to Gore or Kerry?
