Ted Cruz Cartoon Is Pulled by Washington Post

The Washington Post pulled a cartoon from its site on Tuesday that depicted Senator Ted Cruz's young daughters as monkeys.

Mr. Cruz, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, angrily denounced the cartoon in a fund-raising email that sought to bring in $1 million.

The illustration, by the Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Ann Telnaes, was replaced late Tuesday by a note from Fred Hiatt, The Post's editorial page editor.

"It's generally been the policy of our editorial section to leave children out of it," Mr. Hiatt wrote. "I failed to look at this cartoon before it was published. I understand why Ann thought an exception to the policy was warranted in this case, but I do not agree."

“I failed to look at this cartoon before it was published...”

...like a broken record.

Pulled? It already ran. So they the best of both worlds — the sling the sh!t and then disappear down the memory hole.

Superimpose a pic of Obama on the Cruz caricature, and perhaps the WaPo editor might “understand” even better why there is a problem here.

Imagine the firestorm if Obama’s spawn were depicted as monkeys.

The Washington Post would never run a cartoon mocking Hillary & Web Hubble's granddaughter.

Fred Hiatt, The Post's editorial page editor: "I understand why Ann thought an exception to the policy was warranted in this case, but I do not agree."

If you "understand", then you should be fired too, Freddie...

The ugliness and hypocrisy of the left will be their undoing.

Can you imagine if they’d portrayed Obama’s girls that way?

I remember when it was hands off the Clinton kid. Oh boy, was it a sin if you mentioned anything about her.

Then it came to the Bush daughters and now Cruz, and what do you know, it’s okay to trash kids too.

When I saw Cruz’s humorous add aired during the SNL breaks, I was leery of the kids in there. I knew the media would read that as, “The kids are now fair game if they’re going to use them for political purposes.”

The add was fun. The kids did great. It as fine to use them. Unfortunately, we have a media that is both mired in an 13 year old mindset, and rabidly anti Conservative.

It was to be expected they wouldn’t be able to use any self-control when it came to Cruz’s kids. It’s more of the conquer and burn strategy of the Leftist media.

Well guess what. This year we have Trump, and he’s going to do some trashing and burning of his own.

What the media meets out, is going to be returned.

I’ll enjoy watching it.

I love that Sen. Cruz said his daughters are “out of your league,” rather than “out of bounds” or something similar.

“Out of your league.” A not-so-subtle message to that grey-matter-deprived woman.

ZZZZZING!!!

Like this sort of thing?

I thought Liberals regarded monkeyfication as a horrible thing? Didn't they call it horribly "Racist" or something?
