The Republican senator from South Carolina had good reasons to quit the Republican presidential race, as he did this week. He had succeeded in his goal of making the rest of the field more hawkish. He avoided an embarrassing defeat in his home-state primary. And, in leaving, he is being a mensch.
Specifically, he is helping his Republican Party avoid getting shtupped by Donald Trump.
Or make that "schlonged." Trump, in his latest bit of narishkeit, proclaimed Monday night that Hillary Clinton got "schlonged" by Barack Obama in their 2008 contest. Thus did Trump bastardize a Yiddish noun for penis (literally, serpent) by turning it into a verb in front of 7,500 people and millions more who would see it on TV.
Oy vey iz mir! What a putz!
[Milbank: Trump brings the bigots out of hiding]
No wonder half of U.S. voters would be embarrassed to have Trump as president, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll. In Mondayâs "schlonged" speech, Trump also called it "disgusting" that Clinton, who would be the first woman to be president, took a too-long bathroom break during the Democratic debate.
My grandmother, were she alive, would have had a choice phrase for such a vulgarian: Shemen zich in dein veiten haldz. Literally, this translates as "you should be ashamed in your far neck," but that doesn't quite convey the deep contempt the speaker has for the schmuck who committed such a shandeh un a charpeh (shame and disgrace).

The last paragraph in his rant tells the real story of why Trump is leading:
So why are so many other Republican leaders looking so farblondzhet (confused) and serving as Trumpâs shnooks and shlubs while voters fall for Trumpâs shvindel? Genug iz genug, Republicans: Enough is enough. End the shpilkes and tsores and settle on a responsible alternative who can cut Trump down to size with perhaps the greatest Yiddish aphorism of all: Du kannst nicht auf meinem rucken pishen unt mir sagen class es regen ist.
Mixed in with all the B.S. is the reason. Milbank actually believes that Republican leaders(democrat too) pick the Candidate. Not the voters.
And of course, that is why the electorate is so angry. Hanging on a string like a puppet while the RINO’s pick our Primary winner for all these years will do that.
“Trust us” they say. And then you get Dole, Bush, McCain, Romney.....
Commonplace in New York?
That explains it.
Trump, the native New Yorker, vs. the Carpetbagger from via Arkansas.
I think the word is PUTZ.
It is with great amusement I read milbank’s emotional binge~and~purge. Someone who has zero interest in the pubbie party or their interests or success but here we have him scolding the party for not doing his bidding. Why should I give a F what he thinks - about anything?
But what milbank is projecting is far more interesting than what he would like us to believe. milbank is scared crapless. He knows the fraud which has been perpetrated against the American people over the past eight years. He knows the dhimmicrat party is armed with blanks for the next battle. And he knows the American people are pissed and in serious desire of payback.
I’ll leave you with a quote dana: “They that sow the wind, shall reap the whirlwind”
Enjoy the turmoil that you and yours visited upon our nation. It’s all yours.
LOL! Nice.
Well said
Milbank was with the group Journolist back in 2007-2010, created by Ezra Klein and composed of about 300 bloggers and columnists who were openly campaigning for 0bama. When Palin came on the scene they are the ones who targeted her for destruction, and kept attacking her long after the election.
It is no surprise that Milbank and most of the other Journolisters are now attacking Trump.
That was written by a man? It reads like a priggish woman wrote it.
oh, man! I Googled this guy and found “Nominations: GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Newspaper Columnist.”
Faint Praise
Yeah, somebody get him some smelling salts.
Frankly Trumps mouth is far too raw and too often sounds like he can’t control what comes out of it......it’s said he “speaks his mind”.....which is true....but he seldom thinks before he speaks and he knows this......so he always muffles his comments with a word of “fluff” that’s always sure to follow.........Some would call that blowing air where the sun doesn’t shine.
Oh that’s right!
Dana was a real asswipe.
I knew I remembered the snarky twit being against someone we liked - Sarah Palin.
I never pay him any mind whenever I see him on Fox News.
Right.
Mrs. McCain ONLY dropped out because he had zero following.
Yep - let me know when the next leftist is offended by the term “tea-baggers”...
It’s Petseleh.
Whatever.
Thanx.
