There is an unspoken rule in editorial cartooning that a politician's children are off-limits. People don't get to choose their family members so obviously it's unfair to ridicule kids for their parent's behavior while in office or on the campaign trail- besides, they're children. There are plenty of adults in the political world who act childish, so there is no need for an editorial cartoonist to target actual children.
I've kept to that rule, except when the children are adults themselves or choose to indulge in grown-up activities (as the Bush twins did during the George W Bush presidency). But when a politician uses his children as political props, as Ted Cruz recently did in his Christmas parody video in which his eldest daughter read (with her father's dramatic flourish) a passage of an edited Christmas classic, then I figure they are fair game.
Ann Telnaes is an....

Well let’s look at this:
Trump announced with immigration, and build a wall, a big wall, went to the border to meet with the border guards.....Trump met with Jeff Sessions in Washington D.C. after the Iran Rally and talked immigration; Later Trump had a rally in Alabama, and brought up Jeff Sessions for a few words; Trump went to Georgia for a Rally, Herman Cain talked and introduced Trump; Trump, the day after the last debate, stopped in Mesa, Arizona, came riding in on his plane, to a Hanger full of people; Trump gave a speech a couple of weeks ago and his granddaughter told everyone to have a Merry Christmas....
Cruz said that he was for H1B bill before he was against it and said that he would build a fence and then talk about immigration; Cruz went to the border with Glen Beck and handed out ‘teddy bears and soccer balls’; Cruz went to a Hanger and had a rally and had Herman Cain there; Cruz last week was at a Rally where he was with Jeff Sessions saying that ‘Jeff Sessions can build a wall’; And now we have Cruz with his children with Merry Christmas books....
To me this looks like Me Two Ted or Copy Cat Cruz can’t do anything unless Trump is doing it...if this is the case, why didn’t he do this before, he is an ‘insiders’ because he is a Sitting Three Year Senator....
Who cares...seriously. Remember Reagan’s brown suit?
Men and “fashion” don’t go together, IMO.
I was too young to notice what Reagan wore.
Not true, men can be fashionistas and still be manly.
But I get that Cruz is an ideas man but still...
The video that came up for me after the Christmas book one was an interview with Heidi Cruz. She said she noticed Ted’s unwavering conviction and courage as values she admired.
I believe that’s the one and only pic I’ve ever seen of his girls laughing/smiling...and that’s probably staged.
Since, I’ve seen nothing but pouts and frowns.
I have not ever noticed Ted Cruz using his kids. That is totally BS.
Annie is trash, but this stuff helps Cruz. Keep it up valley girls.
you use kids if there are no grand kids
hillary is using the rumor of a grandkid
This is definitely Me Too Ted. Even his Saturday Night Live commercial, a play on Dr. Suess came on the heels of the Dr. Suess like book Jimmy Kimmel did to give Trump a hard time.
You wonder how he will be able to govern the country without Trump there to tell him how.
But hey, Ann . . didn’t you hear, Chelsea’s knocked up again . . just in time for Mom’s campaign
If a man is a “fashionista” he’s also a metrosexual. Cruz is a plain, down-to-earth Texas guy and he’s just fine. His boots are his signature style, and he doesn’t need anything else.
God, when did women start thinking that fashion sense is an important male attribute?
We all knew this was coming.
Imitation is a sincere form of flattery !
There is a great picture of the CRUZ daughters with Mrs Trump looking at her phone. It was from the first debate Very loving look on her face
Please do not blame Cruz! He is a constitutional conservative! He is not to be blamed for pushing the cheap labor express. It is not at all his fault. Cruz is forced to do that by his rich donors. Blame his rich donors for Cruz pushing the cheap labor express. Cruz himself is pure as wind driven snow. If Cruz disobeys his rich donors, his political career will come to a crashing end in the next election! So please do not blame Cruz. Blame his rich donors.
And fix that tan.
I think Cruz is getting fed up catering to his rich donors, because now he is spamming regular people left and right for dollar$. Even people who are supporting him are trying to unsubscribe from his spam, but Ted’s campaign won’t let them.
Well isn’t that the Truth!!! I’m so glad my candidate is self-funding...he might be a New York Street fighter, but boy has he wiped away some of the smudge that the others have smeared over!!!
