A group of Kenyan Muslims travelling on a bus ambushed by Islamist gunmen protected Christian passengers by refusing to be split into groups, according to eyewitnesses.
They told the militants "to kill them together or leave them alone", a local governor told Kenyan media.
At least two people were killed in the attack, near the north-eastern village of El Wak on the Somali border.
The Somali based al-Shabab group says it carried out the attack.

A bunch of teachers tried that when I was in HS; they all got busted.
The king of Jordan has been wonderful too, and tries to protect good Muslims, and takes them in.
And great that there are Muslims protecting infidels. :)

I’d like to at least think they think of them as “fellow human beings” and less as “infidels”.
Yeah, I know... it’s a f***ed up world, full of f***ed up people.
People tend to act in a way that they believe they should. If the society around them expects them to kill the kuffar people will go along even if they don't actively participate.
This is an encouraging sign though. I suspect folks in Kenya are well aware of the conditions in neighboring countries Somalia and Sudan under Sharia Law. The smarter ones likely prefer life in a Christian majority country. Let's hope this sentiment spreads.
