A group of Kenyan Muslims travelling on a bus ambushed by Islamist gunmen protected Christian passengers by refusing to be split into groups, according to eyewitnesses.
They told the militants "to kill them together or leave them alone", a local governor told Kenyan media.
At least two people were killed in the attack, near the north-eastern village of El Wak on the Somali border.
The Somali based al-Shabab group says it carried out the attack.

Credit where credit is due.
Props to the muslims on that bus. Wonder why they behaved so differently?
If this is true, then it’s a long-awaited but good and brave act.
The Kenyan Muslim in the Spite House would have fingered all the Christians, and then told the fanatic Islamic terrorist gunthugs where their children lived...
Worth researching, it is the BBC afterall.
This ain’t gonna make barack muzziebama happy.
kinda sad this is so rare...
Good for them!!
Yes, credit where credit is due! Well done by these Muslims! BTW, they have risked and still may be under threat of death at the hands of the jihadists due to their actions, so they showed great bravery by doing this.
Again, WELL DONE, fellow members of civilization!!!
/PS I think your expectation that “this won’t be a popular thread” is likely wrong, but we’ll see...
Maybe they aren’t a lost cause.
I do regularly pray that God will pluck them out of their miserable excuse for a religion.
I also pray that the unreachable ones will cease to be a plague on our world.
I would hate to live in society where whether I lived or died depended on the good graces of Muslims.
Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. We should honor those people that stand up when everything is on the line.
Courage in the face of death is rare, God bless the people w/ the strength to stand up!
finally! after seven years of the most evil Kenyan Muslim imaginable ....... a few good ones! (why did the diabolical one have to be the one that left Kenya?)
God Bless them.
I suspect that some Freepers might disagree with me but I've never believed that *all* moslems are savages. In fact,my hunch is that not even a *majority* are. This incident,as reported, strongly suggests a basic decency...and bravery...in the people involved.Refusing to follow orders would surely have put them in increased danger.
Credit where due. Nice going, people. Thanks.
I agree. Lumping an entire group into one category and saying “they are bad” is very simplistic thinking. Their religion (and the resultant culture) is a backward relic of a barbaric age, but individual people still can step up and do the right thing. And they should be applauded for it. And then, hopefully, converted.
Not just the BBC. Multiple other news outlets are reporting the same thing. These people acted courageously and should be lauded.
