With retired Marines Gen. Mark Bircher expected to formally launch a second bid for Congress on Tuesday night, he drew fire from the leading Democrat in the race.
Former Gov. Charlie Crist took aim at Bircher in an email sent out to supporters on Tuesday morning.
"It's been more than fifty years since FL-13 turned blue, but with your support, we are going to make history. But that doesn't mean Republicans won't put up a fight," Crist wrote. "And now we know who wants to keep this seat red. Before I tell you what's at stake, I do want to commend my new opponent on his military service to our country. Public service, especially military service, is what allows us to have these debates.
"But, here's the deal," Crist added."Mark Bircher is about as tea party as it gets. He wants Medicare, Social Security, and the Affordable Care Act repealed.
"That's unconscionable," Crist wrote.
Bircher lost to David Jolly in the Republican primary in a special election held last year after longtime U.S. Rep. Bill Young, R-Fla., passed away.
Here is hoping Charlie Crist gets whacked again...This time by a Marine.
Think of it....Chameleon Charlie got beat by: Marco Rubio, Rick Scott, and now, hopefully....Mark Bircher!
I will love it.
.
I met Mark Bircher this past Tuesday evening at the Pinellas County GOP Presidential Debate ...
Mark Bircher is a GREAT guy ...
We all need to support him.
.
good lord doesn’t this ass-hat ever go away please let this marine clean his clock
Sorry, Charlie. Blue's Conservative. You're a Red Commie Creep.
The man is like herpes. You just can’t get rid of him.
I wonder what fools keep giving this dous%%e bag money. Such a loser.
Mark Bircher is about as Tea Party as it gets.
Good for him.
HOO-RAH SEMPRI FI SIR..carry on.
It kinda shows the judgment of both.
At least Jeb! boy Jolly who blasted Trump is not even a worry for Charlie
The bottomless feeder money pit named John Morgan, Esquire.
I detest El Jebbe, but the Orange Menace Charlie was never Lt Governor. He was elected Education Commissioner and then Attorney General after losing his 1st race for Senator (against Bob Graham) before becoming Governor.
If Rick Baker won’t run, the General here is a fine choice.
FU Florida Supreme Court.
