CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: If you define amnesty as he does, as citizenship. Yes, he fought that. If you define it as allowing people who came here illegally not to suffer the consequences of illegal entry, which by law should be deportation, he did not oppose that. It is very clear that he supported that. And as you showed last night in that big showdown, many, many pieces of evidence like his interview with Byron York and others, and what he told the Texas Tribune, he, at the time, said he was in favor of a compromise that would take the 11 million out of the shadows and give them legal status.
I'm not sure I understand why he is doubling down on denying what you can demonstrate with pieces of tape. Perhaps he sees that it's worked for other candidates. He could have easily have said circumstances have changed. We now have terrorism, infiltration and all of that and I have shifted over, which I think is a rather minor difference. But he's decided he is going to go whole hog on the other side.

Well maybe it was, but it sure had the desired effect. So there is, that.

Lengthy explanation of your position. Thanks for sharing. Glaring fault: no comprehension of Senate procedure. Example: Cruz, Lee, Sessions could not offer amendments to remove underlying legalization because that would be re-writing the base structure of the bill. The only way to do that in a markup (which is what we call the sessions during which the parent committee amends and re-writes bills) is to offer what is called a âsponsors amendment.â That gets its name, as you may have guessed, from amendments offered by a bills sponsoring Senators. As neither Cruz, nor Sessions, nor Lee were sponsors, no such amendment altering the fundamentals could be offered by them.
Therefore, the best those three stalwart conservative members of the Judiciary Committee could do was offer a long list of amendments doomed to failure to have a record of just how awful the bill was. Examples included the Cruz pathway to citizenship amendment, and a Sessions bill changing legal immigration quotas.
Again this is procedural minutiae that quite often makes lay mens eyes glaze over. If immigration reform champion Sessions, rock-solid conservative Lee, and FReepers with years of experience are telling you exactly why your argument doesnt hold water, perhaps its time you listen.

Really, the fact that the turncoats GOP in the Congress hate Cruz increases creditability.
Krauthammer, the biased.
“You might wanna just go ahead and come out...you wont be judged too harshly for wanting to have Trumps baby.”
You might think he’s a Trump operative but in reality he’s a Hillary Clinton operative.
The tactic of repeating a lie over and over and over even after it’s proven to be a lie was perfected by the Clintons and has been their favorite tactic for the last 24 years.
Notice how many in the news media came out with the exact same talking points all at the same time?
That can only be done by democrat operatives.
“The media is going to keep asking him about legalization until the crack of doom. “
Good. Repeated questioning might fluster some. Not Cruz. It will help explain the Gang of Eight’s treachery, expose Rubio’s involvement and make it clear to the dense folks out there what “poison pill” means.
Is there any way to email these morons, either network or individually? I seem to be a dummy and cannot find a way to show Fox my distaste for them any more. They seem to think like the Republican party in that we have nowhere else to turn for news.
Cruz cannot escape this argument. Unless Cruz’s entire support base consists of the sort of people who might walk in on their spouse laying in bed with someone else, and then believing their lying spouse when she/he tells them they’re hallucinating, then Cruz is just going into a world of hurt.
The media is going to keep asking him about legalization until the crack of doom.

I see you’re still on your hyperactive, continuous JIHAD against the constitutional conservative Ted Cruz.
Are you, by any chance, a RETREAD?
Wow, I notice that Krauthammer has picked up YOUR line of attack against the constitutional conservative Ted Cruz. Nice crowd you’re hanging out with.
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER
Just another manure spreader from inside the beltway. His mission: and he has accepted it:
To spread the crap generated by the BS artists inside the beltway and try to make is plausible.
They volunteered for the Yeb bandwagon, when those wheels fell off it was a fast scramble for “Who Next” and their ‘reach across the aisle, Gang of 8 Rubberio’ was there to save their day.
Cruz looks to be playing Rubberio like a violin. Marco ain’t sharp enough to play Chess.
Oh, he understands. He just hopes “we” won’t understand.
Rubberio is their last hope against the tsunami.
Cruz learned how to handle ‘the long knives are out and slashing erratically’ during one of the dirtiest Senate campaigns in Texas’ history of dirty GOPe politics (ex- Yeller Dog dems)up against DuWorst.
Yes indeed and I would add he remained at least as reported weak in Poll’s with only a few reporting he was at best even right up until the election, where he beat Dewhurst aka Duworst bloody.
As far as Cruz is concerned negative Polls are not a true indicator of his position, his ever increasing confidence is the true indicator; as my pappy use to say about skinny women or a good steak (in this case a political race) the closer the bone the sweeter the meat, the closer to Feb (the bone) we get the more people will realize and savor the taste of the good stuff.
Cruz... 2016, with great respect, appreciation and admiration for Donald Trump who has brought participation and enthusiasm to multitudes who otherwise would not be engaged, Cruz will take this primary.
Just more evidence that Krauthammer has jumped the shark.
Your Pappy wasn’t lyin’.
Let’s face facts. Ted Cruz was never going to deport anybody or build a wall or otherwise secure the border.
