Please listen to Jeff Sessions defense of Ted Cruz on the Howie Carr Show today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8Nnt_obTRM&feature=youtu.be
Those of you who accept the honest Senator Sessions’ word on this matter...you’re right.
Those of you who are trying to say Cruz was FOR the Amnesty bill, you’ve managed to delude yourselves. Cruz not only led the fight against it in the Senate (where he couldn’t prevail because of the numbers of ‘RATS & RINOs for it, Cruz also unofficially marshalled House opposition for it and met frequently with constitutional conservative members of the house devising strategy on how to defeat it.
A number of you are VERY gullible...or intentionally OBTUSE because of your support for a candidate other than Cruz.
Mindless snark makes you ass look big and your mind look small.
I have.
How many of Trump rallies, pressers, and media appearances have you watched?
I don’t care for Rubio, I like Cruz and I also like Trump. How do you categorize me?
I’m looking for Trump/Cruz whereby after eight years of Trump, Cruz walks into the Presidency. Sixteen years of recovery in America.
I’m saying it’s not as cut and dried as traditional “conservative” absolutists make it out to be;
Conservative vs Liberal, a history of terms and discussion.

All we have to guage Trump on his positions Sparky considering he has no legislative history on which to judge.
I am a great admirer of Jeff Sessions....
.....I listened to the audio
And then you two come along and make rude remarks about Trump supporters
You do a disservice to your candidate.....
Uncommitted?
I still have my Hunter for President on the door of my shop. I look at it every morning when I open up. I sure hope that he is well.
Tell ya what.... I'll be a full Trump supporter after he has his 18 years in in 2027.
Nate Silver type odds makers place a lot of weight on endorsements by incumbents. So far few Republican wannabes have endorsements. Jeb used to have the most but half of them have been taken back.
Tuesday, Rand Paul all but admitted he was not viable and was endorsing Ted Cruz, who is the closest of any others to a Constitutionalist.
What if Paul, Labrador, Sessions, and other Senators and 50+ Congressmen were to endorse Cruz. It is really quite likely. What if unpredictables like the Gov of Maine endorse Cruz?
It is very possible that Cruz could win the endorsement battle. How would Nate Silver, etal then score the odds?
Jo..... See specifics in Post #129. Trump was not only a democrat, but one for 8 years.
That would be great. We will just have to wait and see what happens. Today I am just happy that Sessions is coming to Cruz’s defense against Rubio’s lies about his legislative history.
“Are you trying to say Trump is a conservative? Because his words may be but his record is not. Whats so hard to grok?”
Trump said yesterday he’d planned to spend 35 million on advertising at this point in time. Instead he’s spent $211,000. Everyone knows what the national poll numbers are. That is his record. He is the only candidate with a coherent plan for corporate inversion. He is the only candidate that repeatedly mentions the 19 trillion debt and the fact we have to do something about it. He has an extremely solid second amendment position, one that is second to none.
And you expect me to believe what you say - Trump’s record is not conservative?? You ask me “Whats so hard to grok?”??
Wow. I haven’t seen a single Trump supporter here that much in denial about Cruz. No, most Trump supporters like Cruz.
I don’t know what’s up with what seems to be rabid Cruz supporters so one sided they will give it to Hillary instead of voting for Trump if he wins the nomination. I don’t grok that at all.
So is your standard for supporting a candidate absolute and utter perfection? I understand why Cruz initially supported TPA - it has been in effect for every president since Reagan and was considered so uncontroversial that previous versions passed almost unanimously. But even if you consider his vote for cloture was wrong (he voted against the bill itself), is that one vote enough to disqualify him, despite his 96% conservative record in the Senate? Would only 100% conservative be enough? Because if so, Trump is in real trouble. Trump has some conservative positions now, but many are recent positions for him, and there are still many positions he holds that would not be considered at all conservative.
So here we have Jeff Sessions saying that he and Cruz stood together when Cruz submitted the amendments on the H1B increase and allowing legalization but not citizenship - as a way of showing that the gang of 8 bill was about granting citizenship first and foremost. Will the people who have hammered Cruz over those amendments now accept Session's word, or will they still attack Cruz as some immigration sellout?
Actual copies would be much better than a source with “gossip” in the URL.
He is my neighbor and my friend. He is doing well. Proud of his son, of course.
Are you unaware of his various positions over the years as well? Do you FEEL that a persons long time past positions just vanish when they run for office as Romneys supposedly did... until under 24 hours from the great fail? When suddenly there they all were again?
Does history teach you nothing? You are not remotely wary? Are you familiar with the term ‘campaign promises?”
Maybe Trump did change. It’s best to find out BEFORE electing him wouldn’t you agree?
I am very glad to hear that. I was proud to support him when he ran.
lol! Don't count on it Cat. The man has only been a Republican since Obama was elected. And with his long-held liberal views, Trump's very likely going to flop again real soon.
