Some say, "I like Cruz, but I'm voting for Trump because I don't believe Cruz can win the general." These voters are really saying they believe we have lost the country to the Left. Therefore, a true conservative touting traditional values cannot win the presidency in today's America. This mindset reminds me of what many conservatives did to Sarah Palin.
Palin epitomized the character, principles, and values we in the tea party longed to see in our politicians. Defying the Left, Palin boldly defended the Constitution. She was a faithful long-suffering powerful advocate for God, family and country. When the full rage of the Left was unleashed to destroy her, suddenly Palin became a political leper in the minds of some conservatives and was declared unelectable.
On numerous occasions, Sen Ted Cruz pretty much stood alone in Washington as an advocate for We the People. Cruz courageously endured several barrages of slings and arrows from the Left and RINO Republicans; yet keeping his pit-bull grip on defending Americans.
Conservatives praised Cruz to the hilt for his courage and unwavering stand for the people. But when Cruz goes for the big chair in the Oval Office, those same conservatives who praised Cruz say, sorry dude, you're a bit too extreme for the masses. Sorry folks, that is not the way to treat your friends; particularly someone who has had your back.
Also, I reject the Left's "Ted Cruz, conservatives, and the tea party are extreme" crap. I have spoken and sung at over 500 tea party rallies nationwide over the years. The only thing the patriots who attend the rallies want are politicians who will govern according to the U.S. Constitution. Will someone on the Left please tell we what is "extreme" about that?

Lloyd wrote a good article here. It’s spot on!
Si, se puede
Mr. M, they say it because they don’t want the conservative side (all) of Cruz. they want the liberal side of Trump.
If they actually wanted a conservative, they would vote for one, not justify not voting for one.
Can he beat Hillary?
Why are everyone even talking about Hillary. It’s common knowledge throughout the world that she is a serial felon. She should have been charged with espionage and treason over the email and server fiasco.
It’s national insanity that she is not prosecuted by now.
Nobody is talking about it but Ted Cruz is doing surprisingly well with younger voters who would normally go to someone like Rand Paul.
That was down right profound! Nailed it!
I think Cruz has the better chance to win because unlike Trump or Romney or McCain, Cruz will not make the hard left turn back towards the middle for the general. This will avoid the flip-flopping charges and the need to explain why he said one thing during the primary and another thing now. And unlike Trump, Cruz can outline real solutions to problems and present a clear difference between Hillary and him.
I’ve been saying it for years. A version of it anyway.
I honestly think Trump will have a problem with Hillary in a debate. Trump is not well informed on the issues and it shows even in a 9 person debate.
Cruz will have no such problems. He will surgically eviscerate Hillary on every issue. It will be something to behold.
Well said.
I have never fallen for the Ted can’t win propaganda. It is uniparty/MSM talking points stuff, no relation to the truth.
I was surprised to see Jack Welch yesterday mention one of the same things that I like about Ted. He can simply explain things in a logical manner in a couple of sentences.
Standard Josef G. propaganda. Repeat the lie often enough and it becomes ‘truth’. When you hear that excuse, you are listening to at best, a moderate with no business calling themselves a conservative. At worst an intentional leftist propagandist.
I read this and didnt see where he explains how Cruz will flip states that Obama won in 2012 or take states that rarely go red.
It isn’t going to be a magical thing of showing up and not being Hillary. She has “first mover” advantage like Obama did.
If he happens to win the nomination, I hope he has a plan beyond evangelicals.
“Cruz will have no such problems. He will surgically eviscerate Hillary on every issue. It will be something to behold.”
Debates are not the election. No one will care if he’s “won” thousands of them. The sum total of the election before and after decides the winner. Very few people actually change a vote on them unless someone in it really screws up.
By talking him up, expectations get lowered for Hillary to the point where it will be a “win” for her to just be there and be “beat up” by that “mean little man” and not cry.
In my opinion what the country DOES NOT need is a Democrat or Republican president.
What we need is an AMERICAN president that supports Joe Sixpack and his wife, be they Republican or Democrat, black or white or Hispanic or whatever...
I think Trump is the only candidate on either side of the isle that even has a chance to do that.
I think his chances will ride on how he attacks Hillary. If he goes overboard it will be made to look like bullying a woman. If he pussy foots with her she will clean his clock.
He needs to pare down the length of his answers. They can sometimes be too long and leave the viewing audience behind or at least glassy eyed.
Question: Mr. Trump, what will you do about the ISIS.
Trump: Bomb the $hit out of them.
To the point with out any fluff.

Change the name “Cruz” to “Trump”, will the results be better?
Evangelicals is not the plan, the Constitution is the plan, evangelicals come with the Constitution. Freedom that comes with the rule of law in justice issues a powerful draw to righteous people.
