Yet not once did the Republican presidential candidates address the issue of gun control in Tuesday's GOP debate, a debate focused on keeping Americans safe. Not once did they address the fact that here in the United States we have more mass shootings than days of the year.

Actually, Ted Cruz did make an indirect reference to (the stupidity of) gun control early on in the debate. It was in his discussion of the administration’s response to threats of terrorism in which he mentioned all of the efforts were aimed at American citizens, not the bad guys.
Calling Ted Cruz... Want a great sound bite? How about: “Thanks in no small part to the ineptitude and fecklessness of the Obama administration and former Secretary of State Clinton, America is faced with an increasingly greater threat of terrorism at home. And what is the administration’s and Secretary Clinton’s response? Disarm the American public so more Americans can stand or lie defenseless and wait to be shot like the victims in Paris and San Bernardino. Not under my watch!”
âMass Shootingsâ is the new phrase designed to shift the debate from individual responsibility to placing limits on Second Amendment rights.
âMass Shootingsâ is a new term ginned up in the last 18 months to mean any event where some sort of shooting takes place where more than three people are involved.
The numbers on âmass shootingsâ are from disarmist web sites that include âshootingsâ where no one is wounded, events involving BB guns, self defense situations, and others. It is a term designed for propaganda purposes.
Yes, but like other attempts to frame the argument, and other verbal linguistics (global warming to climate change)it is falling on deaf ears because it is seen as BS and great chutzpah to attempt to disarm Americans in light of Paris and San Bernardino.
Even on national security, the debate is not about guns. It's about terrorism.
The Left needs to move on to something more sensible, like stopping, or at least, properly vetting the Syrian refugees who are bound to contain more than a few ISIS members bent on killing us.
Gotta get together with JoeProBono about creating a graphic of a “Fearmometer”. Give me a week.
Ranging from ^Indifferent^ through ^complacent^ then moving to ^alert^ and finally “Holy Schmidt! We’re all Gonna Die!”
Suggestions welcome.
Neither do we have “psychotic control”.
” mental midget”. I think the politically correct terminology now is “mental little person”. :>)
There is, frankly, no discernible public drive for additional gun control laws outside the usual liberal fever swamps, and the incessant drum beating is growing very old. Expect some serious baby bawling as the election approaches and it becomes crystal clear that they aren't driving the national agenda anymore. Many of them have no other reason for being in that profession, after all.
I’m sorry, did the debate moderators ask gun control questions which the candidates then ducked and dodged? Because I watched the whole thing and I don’t recall any.
Perhaps this idiot should complain to Wolf Blitzer, Dana Bash and Hugh Hewitt.
Ted Cruz, for one, is quite serious about it. And he walks the walk, not just talks the talk.
Here's Ted, practicing gun control...
That's because most mass shootings are black on black in democrat run cities and to mention them would be "racist". If they wanted to talk about "gun control" they would point out that mass shootings that attract the attention of sniveling "journalists" occur almost exclusively in Gun Free Zones.
I did catch that so mr. “just a guy covering the 2016 elections” is caught in a lie. Oh, wrong stance on the gun control issue.
Bears repeating loudly and often.
Not once does this doofus mention that the "enlightened" governments of Europe have murdered more than 30,000,000 of their own citizens over the last century.
That was my first thought on reading the headline.
Just another Huffcompost feeeelings screed.
Interesting that the “meter” has a profile of Michigan on it yet is created by folks from Ohio.
Me likey!
The most effective path to eliminating gun violence is to ban Liberals. That is all they spoke about doing last night, apparently you weren’t paying attention.
the candidates are at the mercy of the debate moderates
“Actually, Ted Cruz did make an indirect reference to (the stupidity of) gun control early on in the debate.”
Yes, and I also heard it. So, the author of the article lied. Again.
