LAS VEGAS, Nevada â GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum talked to Breitbart News exclusively before the fifth GOP primary debate.
The former Pennsylvania weighed in on the âOmnibus bill,â which provides the government spending through the next year, saying, defunding the Syrian refugee resettlement in the United States âis absolutely essential.â
âHereâs the reality, not all Muslims are jihadists, but all jihadists are Muslims,â Santorum stated. âWe canât be politically correct to the point where we ignore that reality.â
âIâm hopeful that they will include some things in there that push the President a little bit on some of these very important issues for our country,â Santorum told Breitbart News when asked what he thinks Congress will do this week regarding the deadline this week for the Omnibus bill.

He's largely forgotten, but Rick Santorum is on the right side of a lot of issues along with Trump and Cruz.

Last time around, Rick Santorum was gaining momentum, there was some hope he could grab the prize. Then for some incomprehensible reason he started talking about the need to compromise.
How foolish. You don't compromise on principles.

Didn't the media push Santorum from out of nowhere in December 2011 to take votes away from Newt?
You heard it here first. :)

If Obama wants it then Reid, Pelosi, Ryan and McConnell want it. They are the only legislators in the Congress. The rest of the congressmen are mere props.

He might be a good running mate for Cruz since it is unlikely Trump would play second fiddle to anyone?

Obama would bankrupt Social Security and defund hospitals treating vets to get money to bring Syrian male ‘refugees’ over to our country. Obama CARES about getting killers into our country.

It’s time for RS to withdraw from the race and announce his support for Cruz. Put your ego aside and do it.

More the other way around. Although he was the most popular choice here, Newt never had a chance. He only won two states. If his supporters had rallied behind Santorum, we probably wouldn't have had Romney as our nominee...and perhaps not have had Obama as President. His supporters don't like to hear that, but it is a lot closer to the truth than their version of events.

Whether Newt had a chance, is a totally different question.
I'm simply pointing out that in December 2011, Santorum was nowhere in the polls and Newt was in the 30% range. And then the media pushed Santorum, and he rallied and took votes away from Newt, splitting the anti Mitt vote.
And I'm pointing out that the same situation could unfold this time, only of course it's Cruz and Trump this time instead of Newt.
