Trump Plan Is Supported in His Party But Widely Opposed Outside the GOP (60% Oppose)

By GARY LANGER Dec 14, 2015 Republicans by more than a 20-point margin support Donald Trump’s proposal to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the United States – but independents and Democrats oppose the idea by wide margins, producing a broadly negative reaction among Americans overall.

All told, 36 percent of adults in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll support Trump’s suggestion, while 60 percent say it’s the wrong thing to do. Support reaches 59 percent among Republicans, who account for slightly fewer than a quarter of all adults. But it plummets to 38 percent among political independents and just 15 percent among Democrats

So the folks in Dubai put Trump's name back on his building. I wonder if the conversation went something like this...

"When I am elected I will have more flexibility"???

That is what happens with people who have no core beliefs.

A little faint of heart there aren't you. Buck-up! all will be on the road to getting better once Trump is elected. He will put an end to the invasion of America, TPP, Iran deal and H1B visa mess this Congress has gotten us into.

You need to first win. Cruz is on message on all three issues you mentioned except he says it differently.

Better elect Rubio since everyone loves him.

Danny DeVito crossed with Spanky from Our Gang. The Hillary voice vs the Rubio voice for a whole campaign=nightmare. Give Rubio a parasol and he is The Penguin.

Were most of those 60 percenters opposed to TRUMP, Muslims, Alinskyites, Republican Establishment?

If 60 percent is true, a Republican of any stripe won’t be clacking through any White House. Certainly not Cruz. Cruz is not going to beat Hillary, because he does not have the broader demographic and cross party support of Trump that covers the loss of the GOP Establishment.

Although, according to *sundance at The Last Refuge blog, Cruz quietly joined the NSRC to cooperate with McConnell and the other GOP Establishment, and gave him 200,000.00 for the favor collecting hat.

Cruz then supported no conservative anywhere, in 2014 senatorial contests, as part of the protocol (nice hide) and therefore was contributing to the Mississippi Treatment delivered against the conservative, by the Haley Barbour machine, to get Thad Cochran (R-MS) back in, as the mule for the establishment.

Trump has no more problems than Cruz is about to enjoy.

I don’t cherry pick polls, and am open minded about who would be the best candidate for the GOP in the general election, but I also believe that there are probably plenty of people out there who would vote for Trump, but are afraid to say so because it’s the ultimate in political incorrectness.

Goldwater was just after JFK’s assassination. Drawing any historical comparison is ridiculous.
