Donald Trump proved again why heâs the man the Establishment loves to hate, suggesting last week that we ban Muslim immigration âuntil our countryâs representatives can figure out what the hell is going on.â In response, the powers-that-be, fearing becoming the powers-that-were, have roundly condemned him, in one case saying he should âgo to hell.â And I could fault Trump, too:
His proposal doesnât go far enough.
We should halt all immigration, as Iâve recommended for years.
Yet in the least and as Trump suggests, Muslim immigration should be suspended immediately.
The apocryphal saying informs, âThe definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.â America has become balkanized. People are now hyphenated, not assimilated; Americans are being displaced by foreign workers; weâre pressing one for English; political ethnic and racial warfare is the norm; and weâre so fractured, not merely divided, that all the Establishment can do to justify the insanity is repeat the Big Lie, âOur strength lies in our diversity,â a proposition for which thereâs no proof whatsoever.
Howâs that immigrationism workinâ for yaâ?
âImmigrationism,â mind you, is the belief that immigration is always beneficial, always necessary and must be the one constant in an ever-changing universe of policy. Hope and change? Not when it comes to immigration.
In fact, despite our descent into national disunity, the Establishment insists on yet more immigration. It doesnât matter that 1965âs Immigration Reform and Nationality Act created a situation in which 85 percent of our immigrants now hail from the Third World and Asia. It doesnât matter that the historical norm is to keep unassimilable foreign elements out of your land, not invite them in. Those who recommend even a temporary return to this norm must be called names. Racist! Fascist! Hitler!

This article, by Selwyn Duke BTW, should have said, “Trump is Right about Muslim Immigration, but doesn’t go far enough.” Trump isn’t “wrong” about it.
I hate writers who have to use some sort of come-on schtick to get people to read their work.
Trump is completely right about this and it is why I want him elected.
The more the Democrats, the GOP, and the media hate him and pile on. The more sense he makes to me.
In a sane country this wouldn’t even be debated
STOP the damn FLOW
Misleading shtick that undoes your cause among those who only read the headline
Halt all immigration completely and where is the next Mrs. Trump going to come from?
I DID read the article and I found the headline and text to be misleading. Sue me. There is nothing wrong with putting the thesis of an article in the headline. Not something that is intended to garner attention.
While I believe this guy’s sentiments about immigration in general are congruent with mine, his way of going about it is off putting to say the least. I guess it’s to be expected. Trying to find out actual facts about this guy’s background beyond being a former tennis pro and a contributor various outlets is a frustrating task.
Thanks because people behaving like this never happened.
(I was only going to read and NOT post, well that worked)
Reading between the lines of "ban Muslims from immigrating until congress figures out what the hell is going on" leads to banning all immigration. You can't know who is or isn't muslim.
It probably wasn’t the writer who created the title. could have been, of course, but my understanding is that editors oftern create titles to entice readers.
It is the title in the original article in AT. I can only surmise that he had the “stones” to accept it, regardless of who concocted it.
“Halt all immigration completely and where is the next Mrs. Trump going to come from?”
lolol
Why is it that liberals, including the Republican and Democrat parties, expend more energy supporting foreigners than supporting Americans???
Well I agree. Halt all immigration for at least two years but Trump is making a good start with the Muslims.
