...an entirely naive view. Politicians of all stripes do what is in their best interest it is the people whom you should blame, for failing to vote their interest on an intelligent informed basis.

So says a guy who makes his life outside of the U.S.

Love ya, Nathan, but you've developed a narrow and blinkered view of where America is, and what we most need for our national survival at this time. More and more, your views sound like so much theoretical pontificating.

Perhaps you need to come home for a spell and spend some time in the trenches under the current regime to truly understand Trump's appeal.

Nathan, you escaped the Peoples’ Republic of the Dis-United States?

I’m so ENVIOUS.

Right on. Stay there, avoid tax money, and help us from afar. Breathe the air of freedom!

Your reply has caused me to rethink my reply proclaimed as you seem to think ex cathedra which has stimulated you to extend regrets about my place of abode. The people have twice now intelligently voted their interests in off year elections in 2010 and in 2014. They deserve no credit for their votes in 2008 and 2012 on the national level. Unfortunately, their votes were betrayed.

That is why I support Ted Cruz who went to town but stayed faithful.

Donald Trump has never been faithful to any principle greater than himself and spent these years engaging in crony capitalism in a corrupt system to enrich himself. Now we are to believe that he has come to Jesus.

Well, his road to Damascus never went as far as ethanol, or Scalia. I think we will see more and more of this betrayal of conservative principles by Donald Trump. If he ever gets into the Oval Office he will feel no constraints at all. Will he double the ethanol subsidies? Will he appoint justices who find Scalia repugnant as Trump does? Assurances that his conversion is real and permanent are not enough in a candidate who is a mere flip flopper but Donald Trump is a flip flopper who is a narcissist. There is no reason to believe that once converted he will stay converted.
