DENVER - Thousands of potential FAA air traffic control trainees, with College Initiative Training (CTI) degrees or previous military experience, have been told by the federal agency they are no longer eligible for job interviews. Instead, the FAA has decided to accept less qualified applicants, apparently to satisfy concerns that the agency needs a more diverse workforce.

We are already seeing how the “least qualified” run the government. Now how about air control, what about pilots.
I haven’t flown in years and rarely did. There are no plans to for the foreseeable future and this is one more reason.
It would not surprise me if they have been modeling the FAA after the book Catch 22
.
They want planes destroying stuff.
Or, in good weather, when your pilot is doing the Hudson River approach.
The idea is to eventually establish a minority government that is superior to the mostly white citizenry at large.
"It didn't ask me anything about my college experience, my grades, my scores, (and) my ability for the actual job. It asked me what sports I played in high school. What was my least favorite subject in high school. Nothing related to aviation," remembered Meryhew.
"I get a big red 'X' when I applied saying I'm not qualified, but no reason why," explained Annie Keinholz. "Biographically ineligible."
You got a big red X because you didn't have the right pigment in your skin...
Rather than hire educated and/or military ATC vets the Feds will waste millions of dollars recruiting and training a diverse force. During this process of waste the Feds will find out this diverse force does not have the mental capacity for the job.
Yep, and several of my ‘passed over’ ATC graduate friends have now gotten the call-up. It’ll be interesting to ask them about the dynamics of the workplace once they get through training.
This may actually be a good thing and restore sanity.
When the airlines start feeling the pinch from reduced number of bodies on flights, their lobbyists will tell Congress and/or the Administration "Knock it the f=#k off!"
In the interim, i'm not going to support stupidity with my money.
big long lines.... everyone unhappy..... lots of chickensh*t going on with the hapless sheeple in the queue.....like there was a big deal being made about a little bottle of local fruit preserves (a very well-known local brand in original bottle with receipt, being carried by a professional person with full ID)...
like someone was trying to knock over Ft Knox...
it is not worth subjecting ourselves to any of that bs.. and especially since these ‘procedures’ have been tested to FAIL to detect weapons 97% of the time!
one thing we can always count on government for....if people want to be treated like cattle, they will get their wishes fulfilled, in spades...
ISIS terrorists WILL get jobs as air traffic controllers, because this regime has no idea how to vet folks or they just don’t give a $%^t.
“Turn right at the next taxiway, honey, a-huh.”
Now flying on an airplane is becoming a social experiment? This IDIOTS!!!!!
The importance of higher intelligence in the Air Traffic Control field is all about smart decisions and comprehension during difficult and emergency events.
I would not want some one who did not think at a high level in the spoken language of the cockpit to be at the other end of the call at Center.
The Auburn Calloway mentality added to affirmative action.
Then I looked at the article and noticed the date.....
I guess the poster doesn't get out much.
Twenty - thirty rears ago this would be alarming, but TCAS pretty much solves the threat of mid-airs.
