Santa Claus is banned. The Pledge of Allegiance is no longer recited. "Harvest festival" has replaced Thanksgiving, and "winter celebrations" substitute for Christmas parties.
New principal Eujin Jaela Kim has given PS 169 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, a politically correct scrub-down, to the dismay of teachers and parents.
"We definitely can't say Christmas, nothing with Christmas on it, nothing with Santa,"PTA president Mimi Ferrer said administrators told her. "No angels. We can't even have a star because it can represent a religious system, like the Star of David."
Kim, 33, did not return a call or e-mail seeking comment.

Maybe its because she’s twelve years old.
Yet another idiot “educator” who should be flushed.
Rejecting Christianity and substituting paganism - just like the Nazis.
Parents should just tell her to get lost.
No, it’s like i said a million time before on this board.
for some INSANE reason Asians are DYING to be thought of as discriminated against and aligned with blacks and hispanics with whom they have nothing in common.
That’s why i dont give a @#$@ when I read about one getting blasted by one of obummer’s sons.
And i’m glad they’re getting @#$ed in college now because of AA.
keep voting dem, @#$@#$s.
they’d eat this girl for breakfast in the bronx.
Well, some parents need to spring for a hall, and invite every child by personal invite, and hold a party for those events. Throw a zinger of a party with a Santa, and a theme. They will come or not. And have a good time. And send a message to Kim il.
Lol. So true. I think she’s Korean. Guess what? When I was in Korea, they celebrated Christmas. I guess she forgot. Oh and can someone sue the school district. I think in 20 years, this will be the norm if we don’t stop this crap now.
If I was the school district superintendent, I would advise Miz Kimmie that if they don’t want to celebrate Thanksgiving, Chirstmas and say the Pledge of Allegiance at her child programming center, they can all just conduct business as usual on those days. Unlike Korea, we don’t celebrate “harvests” and “winter” at schools in America Kimmie.
Parents must stop this. A slippery slope, for sure.
Is she even an American? I realize liberals will be oh so.outraged for anyone to ask such a question. But, does she have any understanding or appreciation of America or our values? Or is she just a liberal citizen if the world tyoe, who doesn’t give a blank about our values or culture, or wants to change our culture to conform to liberalism??
Our Muslim students are happy to do Christmas and Santa Claus. They may not speak much English, but they do know the words Christmas and Santa.
Open defiance. What’s she going to do?
Hispanics deserve no special treatment. They do not have a history of slavery and Jim Crow in this country.
That is perfect!
Flood school board meetings complaining about this principal. That's where things happen. Generally speaking, school board meetings are sparsely attended, even in larger districts. The last thing school board members want to deal with are irate parents. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
The superintendent is at these meetings as a non-voting participant. When his bosses are looking to him for answers in a public setting, things will change in a hurry.
School boards want their meetings to run smoothly and, above all, quietly. No ruckus, no dissent. They certainly don't want the general public turning up and holding anyone to account.
Probably at least a couple of reasons.
I've heard some Asians complain that they are the 'victims' of positive stereotyping. Many Asians do fit those positive stereotypes, but not all. They also have their members who might seek victim status.
And victimhood has become a desirable status for many. There are some practical advantages plus one can feel they are part of some grand social justice crusade. Very attractive, just like in the '60s. Asians can be attracted to that, also.
And probably more reasons.
