Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA) says that although he is a gun owner himself and strongly believes in the Second Amendment, he also believes people on the no-fly list should be barred from purchasing guns.
"Iâm a gun owner. I strongly believe in the Second Amendment," Thompson said during an emotional press conference on Capitol Hill Thursday held by House and Senate Democrats to commemorate the third anniversary of the Newtown, Conn. shootings.

Dunce. So, kinda like margabby kellygiffords who cherish the 2nd amendment but want the govt to know where every single firearm and every round of ammo is. Just in case. Will he get re(s)elected? Will san fran nan? Let's see, an abrbitrary and capricious list of people suspected of maybe, possibly doing something that somebody doesn't like. Without due process of course. How do you get off the list? How did you get on it and what are you suspected of?

New narrative! Dems will trot out real gun owners to support gun control! Just like the Rush seminars callers who served in the military but opposed the War on Terror.

He’s telling everyone straight up that he doesn’t believe in due process. He is in favor of tyranny. He’s not qualified to hold office but I don’t expect his constitutionally ignorant constituents to understand why.

People with common Anglo names are on those no fly lists, and everyone who shares that same name.
At the airport, those people still fly. They just get extra intrusive and time-consuming poking, proding, and degradations.
It’s just another way for the lefties to grab guns from innocent people with no accountability or due process.

Nothing is beneath these people. They trot out tax dodging billionaires who claim they're happy to pay higher taxes.

So he believes in the 2nd amendment, except for the part that says "except for these guys....."
A little government here and a little government there, and pretty soon you have Lois Lerner running the decision office on who gets to do what. What could possibly go wrong?

I consider people who say they “strongly believe” in the Second Amendment but are willing to support the communists’ and Nazis’ “camel’s nose” gun control laws as being mentally challenged and should not own a gun.

Thompson, I know you absolutely love a STASI-like secret list to ban gun owners, with utterly no due process and no conviction for any crime being required, but this is (for a little while longer) America.
So suck it.

And that would have prevented what, exactly? Which terrorists responsible for shootings were on the no-fly list?
Of course this removes Constitutional rights from thousands of innocent citizens. Ted Kennedy was on the list as we all laughed about. If they want to remove Constitutional rights for arbitrary and capricious reasons, why not ban Democrats, Blacks and Muslims from owning guns? It might be unconstitutional, but at least it would be more effective.
The only reason that I can think of that politicians come up with **** like this is that they are clueless about how to fix the problems (mostly, problems that they caused) and need to "do something" that sounds good to the Low Information Voters that elected them.
