Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has jumped businessman Donald Trump for the lead in the first-in-the-nation Iowa caucus, according to a new Des Moines Register/Bloomberg poll released Saturday.
Cruz paces the field with 31 percent support, followed by Trump at 21 percent, and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 13 percent.
The last iteration of the poll, released Oct. 25, showed Carson with 28 percent support in the state, beating Trump's 19 percent, with Cruz at 10 percent.
But Carson fell from the top spot just as quickly as he rose, after the primary race shifted toward foreign policy in the wake of terrorist attacks.
Cruz has been aggressively camp...

Cruz may be able to re-cycle Obama’s bit about how well I ran my campaign shows I’ll be a good pres.
Not true for Obama, of course, although he did win twice so the campaigns were successful.
I’m coming around to Cruz, but I wish he’d get a voice coach.
Cruz is against energy subsidies like ethenal. Yet, he is leading in Iowa. Establishment heads explode.

New CNN Iowa poll -— Trump 33, Cruz 20. Everyone else way down! Don’t trust Des Moines Register poll- biased towards Trump!
So Drudge has the #s wrong?
Recycle out one candidate, recycle in another.
Why the difference? This one is 31-21, the other 29-22? Not that in terms of the leader it matters, but which are the accurate numbers for the poll?
Guess so— if he’s quoting the Bloomberg poll.
Northwest and north central Iowa are the prime high-value farming areas. They always go Republican.
The more industrial eastern Iowa and some rural counties with strong Catholic presence are what tips Iowa to the Dems.
And on to 8 years of Hillary! Hoooo-ray!!!!
The Des Moines Register is a left wing garbage rag. “Anybody but Trump”. Do not forget, Cruz can be bought. And will be beholden to donors/lobbyists/special interest PACs. And who does his wife work for? Now I have to go and make some pasta sauce. And grate some cheese. And open a bottle of red wine.
Yeah, but Cruz did wake up in a Holiday Inn last night, so he has that going for him.
It appears Drudge is wrong. Bloomberg has it as Cruz 31, Trump 21.
0.o Would work most effectively with Congress? They hate him. ‘Course, they probably hate Trump, too.
Why the difference?
Don’t know and I’ve not seen the numbers either. You can’t get on the paper without
registering or something and it’s not on RCP. Trump knew this was coming based upon
his castigation of the DMR at the rally last night.
Since 1984, Iowa has gone GOP only once, 2004. They say the way to make an Iowan farmer cry is to weld his mailbox shut.
Trump has dominating wins on each issue...yet Cruz leads in the Commie-rag poll?
I don’t think so...
Yeah, interestingly, 90% of what Trump says that cause his opponents to go ballistic happens in IA-—the McCain stuff, the church comments, the Carson “pathological” comments, the DMR bashing. I think IA is the one state Trump hasn’t fully figured out.
