Well, the regime and others have made it clear that this isn’t a Christian nation — never was — so what does the Gospel or the spirit of Christmas have to do with any public policy?
This is a stupid article. Evangelicals just don’t think like this if the words in this article are the author’s idea of what would outrage an evangelical.
We are conservative Christians, most of us middle class. We don’t think self-defense is a sin, nor do we think that Jesus’ rules for individuals apply to governments. Police and armies, for example, are supposed to protect their citizens. “Render to Caesar” puts that responsibility squarely in the government’s inbox.
“Such a proposal is a total affront to the gospel of Jesus Christ.” The Gospel of Jesus Christ, in the current Dispensation, is the Gospel of God’s Grace. It says that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is your Savior and Lord, and believe in your heart that Jesus died for you sins, was buried, and raised from the dead, then you will be saved. You will be saved from the Great Tribulation that is fast upon us, and you will be saved to live forever in the presence of God (Elohim). This gospel is totally personal and says nothing about public policies.

shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.
This is in the U.S. Code of Laws. It was passed by Congress in 1952 and has been the law of the land ever since. And, by the way, at the time it was passed by a Democratic Congress.
So, to be clear, if the President determines that murders, killers, enemies are infiltrating any group of people to do harm to America, he has been given the power by Congress to stop or restrict that groups immigration or non-immigration status and ability to come into the country by proclamation.
This is precisely what Trump has proposed, and for obvious reasons.
It is NOT .. UN-American, it is U.S. Law.
It is NOT .. UN-Constitutional, Article 6 Paragraph 3 of the U.S. Constitution regarding no religious test refers specifically and only to the election of Congress, and not to immigration.
As President, Donald Trump would have full legal authority under U.S. Law to do exactly what he has proposed.
All of the hype, outrage, and statements to the contrary are either political grandstanding, abject ignorance of the law, or willful lies regarding the issue.

Such madness isn’t limited to Catholic and Mainline. Even Evangelicals are getting with the program. A handful of Wheaton College students wrote an appeal to the Evangelical community to welcome Muslims as our neighbors and stand against Franklin Graham, Jerry Falwell Jr, and Trump. The appeal was printed by the Washington Post.
Jesus never advocated national suicide. Any major terrorist attack now and Trump wins by proclamation.
