I heard that the US stopped all immigration from 1924 to 1965 to allow the immigrants in country to assimilate. Is this true? ...anyone

In 1924 The Immigration Act was capped/limited to 2% of the 1890 census. Read the Act. I think Harding or Coolidge was around then.
