Malkin: National Security Profiling Is a No-Brainer
Creators Syndicate ^ | December 9, 2015 | Michelle Malkin

Calm down and think, America.

While everyone's undies are in a bunch over Donald Trump's proposal for a Muslim immigration moratorium, it is undeniable in a time of "heightened alert" -- when violent jihadists have no problem targeting their enemies here and around the world -- that national security profiling is imperative to our survival.

Yes, that means taking politically incorrect criteria such as ethnicity, nationality and religion into account when battling radical Islamist throat-slitters, suicide bombers and hijackers who incinerate children on airplanes traveling to Disneyland, plant bombs in their shoes, underwear, soda bottles and belts, and shoot up concert halls, restaurants, malls, Army bases and social services centers.

Yes, that means unapologetic government tracking of Arab and Muslim foreign students, high-risk Muslim refugees, Muslim chaplains serving in the military and in prisons, and Arab and Muslim pilots and flight students.

Yes, that means taking immigration status into account to apply increased, common-sense scrutiny of temporary visa holders from jihadist breeding grounds.

All temporary visa-holders -- foreign students, tourists, businesspeople and guest workers -- are here by privilege, not by right. Their visas can and should be revoked whenever necessary to protect national security.

It is not "un-American" to bar any new religious visas for dangerous Muslim clerics or to freeze visas issued to travelers from official state sponsors of terrorism.

It is not contrary to our "values" to prioritize the immediate removal of all illegal visa overstayers and deportation fugitives from terror-sponsoring and terror-supporting nations.

Should we have a special registration system for visa holders from jihadist strongholds? Hell, yes. After 9/11, the feds put in place a National Security Entry-Exit Registration System that required higher scrutiny and common-sense registration requirements for individuals from jihad-friendly countries including Afghanistan, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Syria...

Michelle says it like it is and shouts it out, it's a shame more politicians aren't patriots like her.

GO Trump/Cruz...Cruz/Trump!

Yes, she also told it like it was criticizing Trump for his liberalism and this is how he responded to her. This shows his true views on what he thinks of conservatives. It’s consistent with his lecturing of conservatives in this campaign that we are just going to have to “get used to it!” when it comes to his big government policies.

I don’t hear Malkin’s voice much since I stopped listening to or watching hannity. A well spoken lady. Needs her own venue, her own talk show perhaps. Also beat Coulter to the punch with Invasion.

For some time Michelle has been making good points about immigration and illegal aliens.

The first duty of the gov. is to protect the citizenry...period. That means they must do what is necessary sometimes in spite of what the constitution supposedly says.

Nowhere in the constitution does it say we have to take in possibly dangerous immigrants. Muslims have fouled too many nests. They deserve the extra scrutiny if not outright banning for their terrible actions of the last fifty years. The constitution is not a suicide pact.

Yeh, lots has changed in three years for Ms. Malkin. She’s been living the life of Job. Chased out of her house by wildfires, had a cousin mysteriously disappear, has had her family health insurance cancelled, twice. But I don’t think her politics have changed an iota. And she continues to fight the good fight against ANYONE in her way.

All those fools just unknowingly backed Obama’s refusal to use his existing Constitutional power to shut down muslim aliens entering the country until they can be properly vetted.

Per existing federal law at 8 USC 1182:

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to appropriate.

Current laws banning admission to the US, and not requiring new laws. Just need someone like Trump to have them enforced:

http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/USCODE-2011-title8/html/USCODE-2011-title8-chap12-subchapII-partII-sec1182.htm
gpo~government printing office:

No admission for any alien for Security and related grounds

(3) Security and related grounds
(A) In general
Any alien who a consular officer or the Attorney General knows, or has reasonable ground to believe, seeks to enter the United States to engage solely, principally, or incidentally in—
(i) any activity (I) to violate any law of the United States relating to espionage or sabotage or (II) to violate or evade any law prohibiting the export from the United States of goods, technology, or sensitive information,
(ii) any other unlawful activity, or
(iii) any activity a purpose of which is the opposition to, or the control or overthrow of, the Government of the United States by force, violence, or other unlawful means,

is inadmissible.
(B) Terrorist activities
(i) In general
Any alien who—
(I) has engaged in a terrorist activity;
(II) a consular officer, the Attorney General, or the Secretary of Homeland Security knows, or has reasonable ground to believe, is engaged in or is likely to engage after entry in any terrorist activity (as defined in clause (iv));
(III) has, under circumstances indicating an intention to cause death or serious bodily harm, incited terrorist activity;
(IV) is a representative (as defined in clause (v)) of—
(aa) a terrorist organization (as defined in clause (vi)); or
(bb) a political, social, or other group that endorses or espouses terrorist activity;

(V) is a member of a terrorist organization described in subclause (I) or (II) of clause (vi);
(VI) is a member of a terrorist organization described in clause (vi)(III), unless the alien can demonstrate by clear and convincing evidence that the alien did not know, and should not reasonably have known, that the organization was a terrorist organization;
(VII) endorses or espouses terrorist activity or persuades others to endorse or espouse terrorist activity or support a terrorist organization;
(VIII) has received military-type training (as defined in section 2339D(c)(1) of title 18) from or on behalf of any organization that, at the time the training was received, was a terrorist organization (as defined in clause (vi)); or
(IX) is the spouse or child of an alien who is inadmissible under this subparagraph, if the activity causing the alien to be found inadmissible occurred within the last 5 years,

is inadmissible. An alien who is an officer, official, representative, or spokesman of the Palestine Liberation Organization is considered, for purposes of this chapter, to be engaged in a terrorist activity.

Yes, that means unapologetic government tracking of Arab and Muslim foreign students, high-risk Muslim refugees, Muslim chaplains serving in the military and in prisons, and Arab and Muslim pilots and flight students.

There is a better way:

  1. Pay the people a bounty for human-intelligence leading to the arrest and successful conviction of Muslim terrorists pursuant to a Congressional letter of marque.
  2. Put up a web site to train the people in how to make a safe and legal arrest that is likely to lead to a successful conviction.
  3. Put up a third web site showing making public the data of all visa overstays: names, descriptions, photos, addresses, contacts, etc.
Let the people gather intelligence. Let the people do law enforcement. The process will lead to better laws and better representatives without nearly the risk to liberty of empowering and enlarging the surveillance police State.

You are correct, but I was stating their anti-U.S. actions. Before that, not counting the Barbary pirates, we hadn’t had much problems in the U.S. with them. That’s changed.
