Even saying what he did he is still the truest conservative and the smartest in the race.

I’ll let the rest of the forum piss and moan about their candidate being better than the other. Having Trump and Cruz #1 and #2 (in any order) makes me smile. The GOPe can just shrivel up and disappear.

[Billionaire businessman]

As usual, feeding into that envy and mistrust of greedy and evil achievers.

Trump may get another bump now that news is coming out implicating the jihadist mother. He said in the beginning she was a liar and culpable and took flak for it. Now they are finding cars and money and weapon stashes in her name.

“Seems Ted is losing a lot of support on FR today— not mine.”

I don’t think so plus he is moving up nationally. I think he will move up more nationally now that Trump has had another outburst without thinking it out.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was at 4 percent

Why hasn't Jeb run out of other people's money yet?

The 10% point gap is the closest Ted has been to Trump in a national poll, AFAIK.

Rubio at #3 is an ominous sign.

If I am reading the statements by both Trump and Cruz correctly, and I'm pleased to be corrected if I'm in error, they can be reconciled to very similar positions. Trump is saying vetting Muslims coming here is currently all fouled up and it needs a relatively short pause while the government figures out a better, sensible, way to handle it at which time Muslims can resume coming her subject to the new rules. Cruz is just saying he has figured out a better, sensible, new way to handle this; Muslims can continue coming here, but only under his new rules. They've both identified the problem, Ted is just a step ahead on solving it.

For those who disagree with my assessment, is it because you want to cease Muslims coming here for a long or indefinite time? I suspect a significant chunk of both Freepers and the general population might favor that, but I don't think that is what Trump proposed this week. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Trump deserves credit (or blame) for what he's said, but doesn't deserve credit/blame for positions beyond what he said. People may or may not think Cruz's proposed rules are adequate. If so what rules would you propose instead to replace the status quo after Trump's muslim immigration pause? No Muslims forever is NOT an acceptable final solution for Trump by my reading of what he said.

Vinl..I am 100% Trump...however, in a “normal world” and Trump was not running...I would likely choose Cruz. It really would not surprise me if he is V.P pick.

That must be a lie...Trump is tanking.

He cannot be the nominee.

He'll be gone by Labor Day.

What? He's still with us.

Well, he'll be gone by Thanksgiving...if not by Christmas

Boosh will win...that's been pre-arranged.
