Presidential candidates Sens. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) are demanding a halt to immigration from Muslim nations with jihadist movements.
Their fellow contender, Sen. Marco Rubio, did not call for curbs to Muslim immigration in his live response to the President address on Fox News â a response promoted by Rubioâs campaign.
Cruz tweeted that if elected president, âI will shut down the broken immigration system that is letting jihadists into our country.â Cruz elaborated in a statement:
The President should place an immediate moratorium on refugees from countries with a significant al Qaeda or ISIS presence, such as Syria. Iâve introduced legislation to make this happen; it is not a desired step, but a necessary step for the security of the United States....

It is only political suicide if you are critiqing Trump. It is ok to say whatever you want about the best proven conservative in the race.
Anything that prevents either Trump or Cruz from being at the top of the GOP ticket is political suicide.
Trump should bring up honour killings next. These people will cut their own kid’s throat for wearing a short skirt.
“Trump blamed extreme right wing speech...”
Oh come on - he said that a long, long time ago. Hardly relevant now. Way back in May of this year!! /s
BTW: Below is Cruz’s response to the Draw mad mo event:
“Once again, as with Nidal Hasan and the Tsarnaev brothers, we have radical Islamic terrorists who this Administration knew about and yet failed to connect the dots and prevent this act of terrorism.”
got a subliminal message from that thing you posted and now I want to take all my clothes off and buy a Cadillac
The only reason he said that is because he had to do business in New York
(at least that’s about what I expect their rationalization to be, seems to be a default response)
The parenthesis with the "before Trump did it" is deceptive and not actually part of the original headline. 2ndDivision misunderstood the article.
They are not calling for a moratorium on Muslim immigration. They're calling for a moratorium on refugees from ISIS countries. IOW, no more Syrian refugees. Someone coming in from Saudi Arabia or Egypt would be entirely unaffected.
All of the candidates (well, actually, I don't know if Rand Paul made a statement yet) have either bashed Trump or, in Cruz's case, declared that this is not something they support.
Your TDS is legendary, libbylu.
Thank you for your foaming, rabid AntiTrump postings.
I really wasn’t going to respond to the posts on this thread, but after what you replied to me, on another thread, you have just proved what a hypocrite you are.
Yeppers. Trump is just a puppy dog waiting for GOP scraps.
You’re a genius BTW.
lol
Openness is not in large supply when it comes to M2t, and facts are negotiable, and reason fades, if you dare to point out these *minor* truths to Ted’s fan base.
It’s becoming a race to the bottom for the second tiers fighting for air and air time.
Cruz supporters are feeling attacked because they know Trump scored big today and even moving to the right of Ted Cruz. The "Cruz is the only PROVEN conservative!" whining gets old. Not everyone overlooks Cruz on TPA and immigration, and Cruz coming off wishy washy today on this issue is not helping him either.
Well, there is THAT, then... :)
Cruz and Paul are demanding a halt to immigration from Muslim nations with jihadist movements.
Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering US until...
Not the same.
Well, Ms July 2016.
I want the whole damn border shut. How about that?
The Trump hitpieces posted with the wrong facts are getting old.
Cruz only mentioned refugees. You have to read it.
It seems Cruz and Paul have been Trumped.
