Turkey just can't seem to help itself when it comes to escalations in the Mid-East.
First, Erdogan intentionally reignited the conflict between Ankara and the PKK in an effort to scare the public into nullifying a democratic election outcome. Then, the Turks shot down a Russian warplane near the Syrian border. Finally, in what very well might be an effort to protect Islamic State oil smuggling routes, Erdogan sent 150 troops and two dozen tanks to Bashiqa, just northeast of Mosul in a move that has infuriated Baghdad.
We discussed the troop deployment at length on Saturday in "Did Turkey Just Invade Iraq To Protect Erdogan"s ISIS Oil Smuggling Routes?,â and youâre encouraged to review the analysis in its entirety, but here was our conclusion:
"The backlash underscores the fact that Iraq does not want help from NATO when it comes to fighting ISIS. Iraqis generally believe the US is in bed with Islamic State and you can bet that Russia and Iran will be keen on advising Baghdad to be exceptionally assertive when it comes to expelling a highly suspicious Turkish presence near Najma."

Puts Obama's speech tonight in a different light, as it seems neither Iraq nor Syria want our assistance in fighting ISIS now.
No Muslim nation is an ally in this war. No Muslim can be trusted.
But those two control the military so it's no wonder Syria doesn't trust us and is turning to (Orthodox) Russia...
I just wonder if any of the gutless RINO’s are embarrassed Iraq does not want us, and wants Russians instead? This is so pathetic, so twisted.
I don’t think they’d have to ask twice.
Erdogan is going to get himself killed. He pissed off too many people.

Including us.
Either Turkey needs to be pushed out of NATO, or we need to leave. I have no desire to get dragged into fighting World War III, especially when we would be fighting on the wrong side.
He said “through political” agreements in Syria bla bla bla....Getting rid of Assad is his number one goal.
He also said help the middle eastern countries fight ISIL. Leave Assad alone and let him fight them.
ISIL.
He can’t even say ISIS.
Pelly on CBS pointed that out, too. ISIL and not ISIS.

What was the tone there, defending the lech or taking him to task at long last?
“Either Turkey needs to be pushed out of NATO, or we need to leave. I have no desire to get dragged into fighting World War III, especially when we would be fighting on the wrong side.”
We need to leave. We don’t need the military welfare clients from a region that in aggregate is more populous and productive than we are. This will kill us, carrying so much dead weight generation after generation.

The Turks claim to be training Iraqi Kurds, and that the camp was set up a year ago with Iraqi govt approval:
