I agents on Saturday raided a Riverside home belonging to a friend of San Bernardino shooter Syed Rizwan Farook as they try to determine whether the man purchased two of the semiautomatic rifles used in the massacre, according to a law enforcement source.
The source, who asked to remain anonymous because the case is ongoing, said officials have been trying to talk to man to see what he knows about the attack. It's far from clear whether the man had anything to do with the violence or even knew what Farook did with the guns, the source added. A second source said the guns were purchased three years ago.
The search warrant was served at the home on Tomlinson Avenue, according FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said. She did not have a specific address.
"The warrant has been sealed by the court and I am prohibited from commenting further," she said.
Victor Venegas, who lives in the neighborhood, said law enforcement showed up at a home in the 3800 block of Tomlinson Avenue early Saturday and stayed for a few hours.
He and other neighbors have said Enrique Marquez, Jr., a young man who lived at the home, and Farook appeared to be good friends. The source said Marquez is the person the FBI is seeking to interview.
Farook, his parents and siblings lived on Tomlinson for several years before moving out a few months ago. Marquez lived next door.
While Farook generally kept to himself, the one exception was his friendship with Marquez, who like him, loved to tinker with cars, neighbors said.
On Thursday, Gustavo Ramirez, who said he was Marquez' stepdad told a Times reporter that he and his wife hadn't heard from Marquez since Wednesday afternoon and were concerned. Ramirez said it was unlike Marquez not to...

No rational normal U.S. citizen could ever accept that a brain dead person would say, "sure I'll buy some semi-automatic long guns for you!
At the very least any such person should be charged and spend serious jail time for conspiracy, with the special circumstance of stupidity.
As an aside, enough of the damned drama queen handwringing! No "couple" could pull off what happened without the direct support of at least 10 other people family, friends, other sandmaggots, providing support, including financial, logistics, transportation, intelligence, shelter, maps and other plan preparation, shelter and escape, in addition to the brain dead gun purchaser.
Yes, I am among those who believe that, yes, ALL muslims are terrorists. Think ant colony with two legged soldier ants : the majority of the colony.
The muslims so-called holy book tells them not to make friends with what they call infidels. So it’s not a phobia for us infidels to not make friends nor trust them in any way.

In deciding against Petitioner Abramski, the Court held that when Abramski answered yes to Question 11.a on the 4473 (the actual buyer question), he made a false statement with respect to a fact material to the lawfulness of the disposition, which violated 18 U.S.C. § 922(a)(6). The Court also held that his misrepresentation concerned information required to be kept by the GCA, which violated 18 U.S.C. § 924(a)(1)(A).
922 a.
(6) for any person in connection with the acquisition or attempted acquisition of any firearm or ammunition from a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector, knowingly to make any false or fictitious oral or written statement or to furnish or exhibit any false, fictitious, or misrepresented identification, intended or likely to deceive such importer, manufacturer, dealer, or collector with respect to any fact material to the lawfulness of the sale or other disposition of such firearm or ammunition under the provisions of this chapter;
The law enforcement news website TickleTheWire.com first reported Marquez as the alleged buyer. ABC News was unable to reach Marquez for comment for this report.
Agents raided the home of Enrique Marquez on Tomlinson Avenue in Riverside, Calif. shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, a source told ticklethewire.com. Itâs unclear what agents came away with.
Marquez was not home and had earlier self-admitted himself into a mental health facility in Long Beach, Calif.
No, scarecrows.
Because they don’t want a record that they own the gun when 0vomit and the Feds start rounding up guns and gun owners.
Fast and Furious, Part 2?
Maybe it wasn’t enough for Holder and 0vomit to sell guns to Mexican drug lords because they weren’t getting the high profile gun disasters they were hoping for so they had to up the ante by selling them to islamic terrorists. More bang for the buck, so to speak.
You would expect a person who sold a gun to someone who uses it in a high profile well publicized attack that killed 14 people, would immediately go to the police with a lawyer, and offer cooperation, since you should know eventually the police will be looking for you.
It would be pretty hard not to have known of this event. - tom
The muzzie shooter farookie would have cleared a background check-and his state department vetted wife too I reckon. I guess it depends on kaliforny law if private firearms sale is legal between individuals. And if not depends on when farookie bought the rifles- could have been legal at that time. Fact is it is very illegal everywhere to murder a bunch of people.
What a disgusting rag this paper is....I tried to read the whole article ...but they do the soap opera (biased) slant and I get furious at how or why they would look for a “valid?” reason as to why someone would enact warfare and carnage for a satanic pedophile ?....
In California (and probably everywhere) this is an illegal straw purchase. Gun laws failed.
California takes it a step further. No need to discern his intent when he bought them. Unless they are close relatives, the subsequent sale/transfer is illegal according to CA’s pointless law.
Anybody ask if the were Fast and Furious guns?
It’s the Obamatollah-Mexican mafia-islamist connection.
A lot of money is paid to transport Islamists across the border and supply them with guns.
Ok. So the guy goes missing and conveniently turns up in a psych hospital? Clever fellow, self-admits, authorities now have limited access.
My, my, my...
Can you say “straw purchase after all”?
“Abuershaid said the family was very conservative and that it would have been unlikely that Malik discussed her thoughts on world events, including the trouble in the Middle East, with her in-laws.”
Why does the MSM keep saying she was ‘conservative’? Because they can’t find a Tea Party link?
Actually intent is important. When you purchase one they ask you exactly that question. If you give it to a wife or child ( not step). You are ok. Anything else gets sketchy unless a reasonable amount of time has passed.
“Marquez was not home and had earlier self-admitted himself into a mental health facility in Long Beach, Calif.”
One way to get around the death penalty I guess. Although that will limit his availability of buying future guns.
Does anyone know what ever became of the story of the “three” shooters? Was that some early mistaken confusion? Or was/is their a third person out there that nobody is talking about?
I’ve tried the link several times but it takes me to a picture of the friend’s house but title and article is about Obama’s speech tomorrow. Tried to google the article and same result. Searched for it at the LA Times with your title and it said zero results. Scrub a dub dub.
