Bellwether county has called it already - it's Trump (and they've only been wrong TWICE since 1888)
Daily Mail (UK) ^ | December 4, 2015 | J Taylor Rushing

It spans only 403 square miles and boasts no skyscrapers to speak of, but one rural Indiana county appears to be supporting Republican billionaire Donald Trump for president - with potentially nationwide implications.

Vigo County, Indiana, located on the western edge of the state and home to 108,000 Hoosiers including 40,000 active voters, was spotlighted Friday in a cover story of the Washington-based political magazine Politico.

Why? Because the county has been an accurate bellwether of every U.S. presidential election since 1888, with only two exceptions.

And this year, the county with the nickname 'the crossroads of America' seems to be in a Donald Trump frame of mind.

“Trump will never get my vote. Im not a chump... Cruz 2016”

So in the general election, do I take it that you will be voting for Hitlary? And what will you do if Cruz decides to be Trump’s VP? It sucks to be you!

Trump had a big lead in the last CO poll vs. Hillary, also up over her in PA, IA, NH, MO, FL, NC-—almost all states Romney lost.

what will you do if Cruz decides to be Trump’s VP?

It increasingly looks as though that will be the eventual outcome.

I very seriously doubt it. Any with half a brain and looking at this from the big picture can’t miss that Cruz brings nothing to the ticket. He is better as AG and maybe on Supreme Court.

Winning Iowa is not that big a deal. Although Cruzers think it is like winning the national election. Which Cruz would have a very slim chance of doing. His appeal is just not broad enough.

“So, they been wrong before...”

That loss in 1888 was probably your candidate.

In a more saner country overall we would have a lot more Ted Cruz’s to choose from. Trump would not even be running but as it stands he can garner the crossover votes and has the panache to win the general.

Which prediction makes me wonder... is it even a lock that Hillary or Bernie or Uncle Joe can pull ten states.
Which ten would they have as a lock? Even Oregon, is moving towards Trump amongst all the white moderates and independents that I know...
Lets see... perhaps:
1. California
2. New York
3. Illinois
4. Hawaii
5. Washington
6. Maryland
7. Nevada
8. Colorado
9. Michigan
10. Wisconsin

I am not very confident that the dems can get even the last several I have listed in the top 10, unless Trump goes completely off the rails. NO ONE who is rational actually trusts Hillary or Bernie or Joe...

Based on current public polls by state What states would the democrats have locked down?
