Following his announcement that he is opening all positions in the U.S. military--including all combat positions--to women who can meet the standards, Defense Secretary Ash Carter was asked on Thursday if that means women will have to register with the Selective Service, just as men must do.
"It may," he said.
A reporter asked Carter, "Mr. Secretary, does this decision now lead to a -- a greater debate about whether women need to register for Selective Service?"
"It may do that, Phil," Carter replied. "That is a matter of legal dispute right now, and in fact, litigation. So...I don't know how that will turn out.

Wait the ‘males must register’ thing is a law. The President can’t just declare laws ...
Except for Illegal Immigrants whom are REQUIRED by LAW to do so but the RATE of registration (WHICH HAS PENALTIES if one does NOT register) is essentially close to ZERO compliance.
Only when it comes to abortion.

So, brave men go to war, put their lives on the line to defend empty homes...the women have go to war, their children lay dead on the PP floor, and Moslems govern the country. Sounds like a deal to me.

They have been beside themselves over the fact that in the era of a volunteer military it has been impossible to get a 60’s style anti-war movement revved up.
With the prospect of daughters being drafted this is finally within their grasp.
If I were to type out what I think about this right now, I would be banned. Not just from FR, but from the interwebs, and polite society.

Women want equality, call their bluff. Make ‘em sign up.

Which means if we get into another situation where a draft is necessary you are going to be amongst the throngs out in the streets protesting it.

Women must have the equal opportunity of being forced to have their heads blown off.
For true equality, all females in the military will have to be sterilized. Males don’t get pregnant and have to be sent home.
