Hi, Westy. Yeah, it’s me.
Whenever you see a published news story, especially from any mainstream media news source, make sure you archive its contents so that when they scrub things in the future, the facts wonât go down the memory hole.
I respect the FReepers as intrepid researchers and this is an important toolset to keep in your arsenal.
First, enter the URL of a news story in the website archive.is
For example, the URL of this page goes in the âMy url is aliveâ box. Then all you have to do is press the button and you get an archived copy, as well as a screenshot and even zip version that will be immune to takey backsies of little factoids that are inconvenient to the narrative. The url that immediately comes up in the browser window after you press the button is the url for your new archive âin this case, https: //archive.is/wgmZz. Sometimes the page will redirect, sometimes it will stay âloadingâ for a while but that URL is all you need so you donât have to wait for it to finish. Now you have a nice third-party backup of your info.
A great next step is to also submit it to the Internet Archive at archive. org.
You can try searching all the archived versions of a page as well on both of these sites. They might have the version of the page that got scrubbed. Also check G00gle Cache as a last resort.

Thanks Lucy
