I think that FreeAtlanta’s mistake was to use a Google search instead of the resident FR search application.
I’ll continue to recommend the “on-board” search (upper right-hand on the main page).
It ain’t exactly perfect but it does search ONLY FreeRepublic for topics...
See post 37.
Ctrl F. Simple and effective.
I actually used the one at the top. I searched “Sandy” thinking that would find the title of the politico article that I had seen on Drudge.
An improved feature would be if FR would do a search when we submit and let us know if it has been posted or a similar set of articles that have been posted. Also, it would be great if it used a little ajax to let us know if a site is on the banned list before we make the effort of filling out all the fields.
It really stinks to get attacked by people after we make the effort to fill out all the fields to share an article. It almost makes one not want to bother.
Try site:freerepublic.com intitle:berger with "Past 24 hours" selected. It instantly turns up threads 3367130, 3367133, 3367256, and 3367137. No need to scan down through piles of irrelevant past results.
