We have heard a lot of talk about how gun and ammo sales are on the rise but the numbers from Black Friday kicked things up to another level.
From USA Today:
More Americans had their backgrounds checked purchasing guns on Black Friday than any day in the on record, according to data released by the FBI this week.
The National Instant Criminal Background Check System processed 185,345 requests on November 27, one of the largest retail sales days in the country.
âThis was an approximate 5% increase over the 175,754 received on Black Friday 2014,â wrote Stephen Fischer, the FBIâs chief of multimedia productions. âThe previous high for receipts were the 177,170 received on 12/21/2012.â
Pretty unbelievable.
The primary reason we are seeing such a dramatic rise in gun purchases is because Americans have noticed how left leaning politicians use the gun control issue to exploit national tragedies. Many on the left feel that the only way to stop violent crime is to make it more difficult for people to get guns. Of course, what they donât realize is that while they are doing that they are inadvertently making it harder for law abiding citizens to protect themselves from bad guys who rarely follow gun laws.
Thatâs a scary feeling. Many people have decided to stock up while they can due to fears that strict gun control laws could be coming down the pike during Obamaâs last year as president.
In fact, he has already promised that will be on the top of his list.
Pretty simple. Threaten to take away guns and people will buy more guns.
I’m mostly a large and smallmouth bass area, but I love the fish pan fried with the skin still on, so cleaning means scaling. Messy and time consuming, but worth it.
:-)
Good point. They’ll probably start using traffic tickets and jaywalking as reasons to take away 2nd amendment rights from ‘mentally incompetent’ citizens.
And if you are being questioned be ready to say "what?" if they lob a "what's your freeper name?" question at you?
Man these symbols chap my ass.
you’ve ignored crispy hash browns, butter fried ham and hollandaise sauce
Now that I think about it, they’ve gone out of their way to point out the traffic tickets of both the planned parenthood shooter and the Charleston church shooter.
Better go buy some more ammo.
LOL. As much as he may hate it, Obama has been one of the best friends that the gun industry has had. He spouts off about some draconian gun legislation that he is pushing that has zero chance of passing but it gets the public scared into buying more guns on the chance that it does.
Didn’t buy any on Friday, but I bought a few hundred rounds of .22 and 9mm on pretty good sales.
My two sons are getting some cool “toys” for Christmas though.
Where’s the biscuits and gravy?
Does this surprise anyone given all the ‘Boating Accidents’ I hear about?
You have bacon. Be glad. The way things are going with our Mussie-In-Chief pork will be banned along with guns.
Got bacon. Don’t need no stinkin’ B&G ...
Sausage gravy is great on eggs and not too shabby on bacon either.
There were 600+ people waiting in line at 5am Black Friday morning to get through the doors of the local Cabela’s down the road in Buda, TX. Guarantee that most were not there for the camping supplies.
Yep, they all wanted some of Cabella’s bison jerky. Nothing to do with guns. Nothing to see here. Move right along....
Yep. Me too. Had lots of company there, too, including several women plus a few who had never shot before so not all the women went shopping.
Hmmm, I need more guns
